Slowwwwwly Making Progress - The Office

Whenever I get some free time, I try to use it productively by working on the office. You won't believe it, but I'm still working on the desk! I haven't even primed the drawers yet.. ah! But it's almost done.

This weekend we did get past the big hurdle of painting. It's the perfect, warm, calming pink. I decided on Cameo Pink by Ralph Lauren mixed in Behr Premium Plus Ultra. We were able to only use a gallon, but I'd like to buy a quart to do one last coat to make it perfect. I say we, because my husband graciously helped me paint (which I never expect him to, but he offered. Yay!)

But for now... here are some pictures:

The paint color is somewhere in between the first picture and the second - I couldn't quite capture it's greatness.

And yup, I'm keepin' it real - it's a disaster zone. Lots of furniture to move up, so I can put away everything that is currently on the floor. It will be a storage dream when it's done - three IKEA Billy bookcases, a dresser (to hold fabric), and a full sized closet to hold printer and such. Once this office is complete, I have big dreams for my business which involve lots of organizing and such. I'm very ready to be done working from the kitchen table!

Which brings me to a big THANK YOU for my clients for being understanding and patient during my move and transition!

Going back to progress made - I also brought up an old console (the blue one from here) and made a quick skirted table with a drop cloth. It was so easy! You just drop the drop cloth over the console so that the length is how you'd like it in the front. Then you wrap the droopy front corners around the sides and to the back, creating a fold and two drop lengths on the side. And staple gun! Super easy. (Sorry no pictures of the process)

Although making progess, I'm far from finished. Still on my to do list:

+ finish desk (poly, paint drawers)
+ move desk and dresser upstairs (!)
+ buy IKEA bookcases, put together
+ window treatments - deciding between drapery or roman shade
+ have settee reupholstered
+ figure out drapery for closet door

Wow - lots to do still! Stick around, my friends.

  6. The color you chose is so soothing. You always surprise me with how well the colors look in the room. I remember when you wanted to change your last place to greige, and I gasped, but it looked amazing when you were done. Then you said your office would be pink, and I wondered how that would look, but once again, it is beautiful. Perfect shade of dusk pink.

  14. What a charming pink! It reminds me of ballet slippers. I can absolutely see that in a little girl's room.
