Meredith Jackson Giveaway!

I am so excited about this giveaway from Meredith Jackson! Meredith is a great friend of mine here in Charlotte and she is such a talented jewelry designer.

I've mentioned this before, it's DANGEROUS having a friend who makes jewelry. I am constantly seeing (and wanting) new things she puts out. I think I currently have at least 10 sets of her earrings. Here is a picture of some of them on a bowl that I keep my earrings on:



I wear this casual pair of gold hoops from Meredith all the time:


And here is my emerald green pair.. she added on the smokey quartz to make them more formal for the wedding we went to (one of the perks of being friends with a jewelry designer!)


Here I am, again, wearing Meredith Jackson earrings. It's sort of embarrassing plastering my face all over this post, but I thought it'd be fun to show you some of Meredith's earrings "in action". I seriously wear something of hers almost every single day!

If you read my blog often, you know Home Goods is one of my favorite stores. I live within walking distance to one and I tend to go there a lot. I don't usually buy something every time, but I love to go and see what's new since things are always changing.

A Thank You Giveaway!

But first I want to thank you so much for your support. It's so touching to hear from readers who have been reading my blog since "way back when" and I love when I hear from new readers, too. I couldn't do anything I do without my blog readers and I appreciate each and every one of you! I read each comment and email and you guys keep me going every time I wonder "can I do this?!"

Recently I was contacted by Oreck about doing a review and giveaway for one of their vacuum cleaners! I don't often do product reviews on my blog; the only time I do them is if there is a product I would actually buy or a brand I really love. This is the case with Oreck.. My mom has always been a die-hard Oreck user and I grew up listening to the sound of their vacuums :)

Oreck graciously gifted me the Oreck Forever Series Gold vacuum and I can honestly say I love it!




I had plans on making a video, but it ended up being so lame that I decided to forgo it. So instead I'll give it to you straight about what I love about this vacuum:

+ It's SO so light. I could hold it up with one hand (and that says a lot.. I have no muscles haha). My other vacuum is an ancient Dyson which weighs a ton.

+ When the vacuum is running, it self-propels. Kind of like a lawn mower!

+ It works flawlessly!! It makes our very light carpet look clean and picks up even the smallest leaves and sticks.*

+ The head is super thin, so it fits under my kitchen cabinets!! This is huge for me because our home is like a breeding ground for spiders and webs and I have an on-going war with them.

+ It works seamlessly from carpet to vinyl to hardwood... there are no settings to be changed.

There is only one con.. there isn't a hose/pull out thing-y. But since the head is so thin and it fits into nooks, it's okay for me.

*Charlotte brings in collections of sticks and leaves on her tail on a daily basis. I love the girl, but she makes our family room so dirty!







Obviously I took these pictures before I vacuumed haha. The Oreck picks them all up, no problem!

Imitation Is The Greatest Form of Flattery

Recently (why just recently? I've been missing out!) I discovered "Jones Design Company" and was blown away. Emily is a mom of four and has the Martha Stewart gene for sure. Look how cute she is!
