The World Market jute rug is really great. It's very textural, which I like, and it's actually pretty soft underfoot. I'm really glad I went with the 9x12 (and I'm glad I got it when I did! It looks like they are sold out right now in that size, but I'm sure they will get more in).
(sorry for the bad iPhone pictures. I literally just took them and the sun's not quite out yet)
See the paws in the last pic? ha
Unfortunately the west elm rug was too small.. bummer! But I do have another one in mind, but it's backordered until mid Nov. I'll definitely update you when I get it!
What I really, really want for this room is custom pleated drapery from my workroom, so I'm saving up for that someday.
However, I actually have three pairs of plain white IKEA drapes in my attic, and I bought the curtain hardware for this room ages ago when it was on sale at Restoration Hardware, so I may put those up just to finally feel like this room is "done".
Anyway, I got off topic - the point of this post is to tell you I really like the quality of the World Market jute rug :) Definitely consider it if you are in the market for one!
I love that rug it's so pretty!

the rug looks great but the paws are my favorite : )
ReplyDeleteBeautiful room - but is there a reason that you didn't swap the loveseat with the chairs. The room looks blocked off for me when coming from behind the sofa. I think it would still feel intimate without the feeling of having to go around the sofa. Love your house.
ReplyDeleteahhhh those paws!
ReplyDeleteI love World Market. I find myself shopping there more and more lately. Sometimes they just really knock it out of the park in terms of cost vs. high style. It looks great!
ReplyDeleteNice. Love how your foyer area is coming along.
ReplyDeletelike the rug and glad to know about the quality. think it would look better turned the other way in your room. with a 9x12 rug, you should go at least 5x8 for the one you layer over it to get the scale right.
ReplyDeleteI love the clear lamp - where is it from?

That rug really pulls the room together. Amazing how something so basic and neutral can make a huge difference. Love this room (especially the painting and the capiz pendant.
ReplyDeleteI agree, swap the chairs and sofa and show us a picture! :) Then you could see your pretty pillows from the door. Love the new rug.
ReplyDeleteThis room is beautiful! And the rug really ties it together. Would love to know where you found the fois bois pillow coverings!
ReplyDeleteIt's amazing how a rug really ties the room together....love it! One more vote for swapping the sofa and chairs though :)
ReplyDeleteThe rug looks great. It's fun seeing your room come together and looking so fantastic!
ReplyDeletehaha! I just bought that run two days ago!! i'm going to go back and buy one more and make my sunroom basically wall to wall jute! i love it too! looks great in your LR! have a fun weekend Bryn!
ReplyDeleteIt makes a big difference! It really grounds the space and makes it feel like a room, not just a little space off the entry.
ReplyDeleteLove it! Your room is coming together so nicely. Can I ask-did you notice a big difference in quality between this one and the jute you got from West Elm? I am debating between the two and cannot decide if spending 125$ more for the WE one is necessary. Thoughts? I also vote for the sofa/chair swap btw, love to see it.
