Yesterday the weather was in the 50's (and of course I LOVED it!!) but it got me thinking about boots again.
Then I saw this image on Pinterest....
I loved the boots she was wearing and then realized they were Frye Paige boots!
I think these may be the ones.. I'll let you know how they work out!
ps - I ordered two pairs of boots (to try them both) from J.Crew but they looked terrible so I'm returning them. Strike 1 and 2.
pps- $350 is a LOT to spend on shoes (for me at least). But the Steven Madden Intyce leather boots I bought just last year already has a hole in the sole. I'm done with spending $150 on boots every year and ready to invest in good quality. I want to find a pair I love and can keep for YEARS! I'm crossing my fingers these fit the bill...

I've been having this same debate! I think the Paige Frye's might be the only solution though. They're so beautiful and everyone swears they'll last!
ReplyDeleteI bought mine um, "broken in" a.k.a on eBay and they are still going strong 3 years later. Frye's really are worth it!
ReplyDeleteHi Bryn! Those boots are gorgeous. I have a pair of Fryes (Jane 14) and they are great. However, I also have 2 pair of boots that are Enzo Angiolini that I have had for almost 7 years (!) and they have held up so well! I live in the northeast and have worn them in rain and snow. Just wanted to put that out there. Got them on sale at Macys for less than $90 each!
ReplyDeleteI bought my daughter a pair of Fryes from Shoe Gallery in OKC. They have a 20% off coupon and sometimes even offer 30% off. Check them out online. I saved $100 on my boots!
ReplyDeleteI love the look of the Frye Paige! Especially in the weathered grey color since I already have a brown boot. I haven't pulled the trigger on them bc of price but have been drooling over them for a while!
ReplyDeleteYou might look into Duo Boots as well. I had trouble finding dress boots that fit my calves - everything I found was too wide and I hate tall dress boots gap at the legs (or the stretchy ones that just sag at the ankle). Although, for riding boots, it's not such a big deal. Anyways, Duo is a British company that sells boots by the calf-width and so far, I've bought three pairs. They're priced about the same as Frye and have so far worn very well.
ReplyDeleteThese are gorgeous and I have heard so many great things about Frye boots! I was lucky to find a great pair from BR a few years back that have lasted with a little TLC from the shoe shop.
ReplyDeleteI've been on the hunt for brown leather boots for about a year and just ordered these from Nordstrom on Sunday! I tried on this style in the store, but they only had the dark brown available online. If they don't work, at least there's a good return policy.
ReplyDeleteI have these and I love them. They are great quality and gorgeous on. They're expensive but totally worth it, they last forever.

I'm in the SAME boat and just ordered these! I hope I like them, too. I LOVE the SM ones ... got three years out of them, but time to really invest knowing how much I wear them!
ReplyDeleteI am so glad you posted this... I having been trying to decide on a tall pair of nice boots and have been looking at a few pairs of Fryes.
ReplyDeleteI've been having this same debate. Do I just buy another pair of Steve Madden's or bite the bullet for the Fryes? You'll have to update us how they work out when you get them!
ReplyDeleteLove them! I just bought the Frye Melissa Button with a 20% off code from Amazon for signing up for their fashion emails. I love them and need to stop admiring them and wear them outside already!

ReplyDeleteI have those Frye boots! Biggest wardrobe investment I've ever made and I L-O-V-E love them! Thanks for the great blog!
ReplyDeleteI have these boots. It was my birthday present from the hubs last year. Did major research on the best and cutest boot out there. They are comfortable too. I get compliments EVERY time I wear them. I love them. Worth every penny!
ReplyDeleteYou need to splurge on these! My sister has my mom's old Frye boots from
ReplyDeletethe 70s and they are still in great condition- she's only had to
re-sole them once in 30+ yrs!
Haha that's my sister's comment below ine- she's right ! You will not regret this purchase!!
ReplyDeleteI think a classic style of riding boot is a great investment - that style will be just as chic 20 years from now! And the quality of the leather means they'll age nicely. Go for it!
ReplyDeleteThose boots are just gorgeous!!! I still have a hard time spending $100 on boots...but i live in Az:)
ReplyDeletegood luck with the boots. I've seen some girls really rock them. you may want to check out the boots at lands end. surprisingly stylish and the prices are great--they are having a sale right now
ReplyDeleteJust came across your blog and love it! Also, wanted to let you know I bought these boots about 3 years ago and they are the most amazing things on the planet. I got the grey color and they go with everything. Seriously worth the money and I get compliments every time I wear them. Go for it! Oh, and here's a new wallcovering line for you to check out: www.abnormalsanonymous.com. Looking forward to reading more on your blog!
ReplyDeleteThose look like they could be perfect! I've been on the hunt for just the right boots as well. Let us know how it goes!
ReplyDeleteThe boots pictured are really great, but did you consider getting your old boots re-soled. too, if they are otherwise okay?
ReplyDeleteThe Frye Paige boots were my Christmas present last year and I am still obsessed with them. I wear them as much as possible and they still look brand new! I am actually considering getting them in another color this year... it is not even worth looking at other boots- they are that amazing. Totally worth the $$ (and there are often brand new pairs on eBay for $40-$50 less)!
ReplyDeleteFrye Melissa in Cognac has been the best investment in boots I've ever made. Got them last fall and already by this fall they are nice and soft, but still structured. Lots of leather lotion-ing to break them in but I get so many compliments on them. WELL WORTH the investment! I too tried the Paige boots, first, but they were too tall and uncomfortable under my knee.
ReplyDeleteDid you end up keeping them? I just ordered a pair of Melissa boots. Hoping they work out!
