In this post I told you I had a number of things I want to get finished in the next couple months. I'm happy to report I'm making progress!
I've been working on the top two items on my to do list before Halloween.
Thankfully, there are/have been a lot of rug sales going on right now. West elm had one (it looks like it's over now) and thanks to some design dollars I had with them, I ordered this 3x5 rug and only paid $25! Now that's a deal ;)
I plan on layering it over a larger jute rug. I had originally thought about buying two of these $100 IKEA rugs, but then I discovered World Market is having a rug sale. Since I got the 3x5 rug for only $25, I had some extra budget to spend a little more for the jute rug. I ordered this 9x12 jute rug for only $330 (shipped):
They are both on their way, and I'm crossing my fingers they work perfectly!
They are for here:
I know they will make the space feel much cozier!
I have to tell you about another recent acquisition. Matt and I recently went on a home tour here in Charlotte and one of the homes smelled sooo good. of course, I had to buy the candle that was burning. (Luckily, we sell these candles at Isabella and I get a discount, or else I'd probably spend an obscene amount of money on candles.)
The candle is Lafco's Office candle... it's the perfect candle for the cooler, fall weather. It ALMOST smells Holiday-like (since it has rosemary) but not quite.

hey bryn, can you remind me where you got your living room coffee table? thanks!
ReplyDeletenice! They'll look great. I really admire your ability to wait out purchases to get what you really want... so patient!!
ReplyDeleteOoh, I"m excited to see the rugs! Also, anything rosemary/mint eucalyptus/mint (Bath and Body Works!) or a combo is great in my book. The herbs make it work any time of the year.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see the results - when you finish can you come to my house?!
ReplyDeleteHave you ever flipped the location of the LR couch and arm chairs? I am a compulsive re-arranger and I love your style, but I always want to rearrange the furniture just to see what it looks like.
ReplyDeleteNothing like a rug or 2! to warm up a space. Love that West Elm one - can't wait to see the in your room.
ReplyDeleteI have this exact same west elm rug layered over a jute rug I had prior. The layering for it looks fabulous. I just love it. Excellent choice. The 5x8 rug at our west elm outlet (memphis) was $150. The 8x10 was still like $500 so the 5x8 was by far the DEAL! Yay. Can't wait to see it when it's done.
ReplyDeleteI just did this exact layering the other day for a client. I am also thinking about it for my own home. I can't wait to see how it looks in yours!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see the rugs layered and I am sucker for any good smelling candle!
ReplyDeleteThe rug seems to be hand made. It will have a great look in your room. The tall black chairs are looking aggressive with a tall glass lamp besides them.
ReplyDeleteI bought a rosemary candle last year, and my friend that I was shopping with thought it was so odd! It ended up being one of my all time favorites - strong, fresh and herby without being too Christmas tree. - Rachel
ReplyDeleteLove the rugs you got! Can't wait to see your gallery wall!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the sale tip - I have had my eye on the World Market rug! I brought it home yesterday (I needed a 6x9, which they have in-store) and I'm pleased with it. I'm curious about how it will work with a rug over the top though - it's quite thick and knotty. You'll have to let us know!
ReplyDeleteNice rug! Please let us see more !! :)
ReplyDeleteYou are doing better with your list than I am......saw all the rugs on sale at WM......kind of think I need a new one somewhere :)
