Fancy Pictures of Not So Fancy Things

I went around my house this morning and took Instagram snapshots of little things I like around me right now. Funny how they can make the ordinary look somewhat interesting (okay not really that interesting.. that's why I never really do Instagram, my life is pretty boring!)

My jewelry collection is growing... I'm running out of room on my bowl!

Untitled
My office is pretty much finished, we just recently installed the new TV (my husbands doing haha) I just need to patch some nail holes and steam the slipcover and then I will take pictures!

Untitled
Bought some awesome pillows and a mustard ombre throw at West Elm for a client, they are all going together (in the pink room!). It's always nice to find pillows in stores, saves the hassle of having them made custom!

Untitled
We had a big BBQ this weekend and my friend (who is starting a party planning biz) styled it. These are some leftover flowers that I have been enjoying!

Untitled
I haven't shared the guest bedroom updates yet, my parents are coming mid July and I hope to have it "finished" then. I LOVE the new lamps. You can buy them here. You can read about the screen-turned-headboard here.

Last night I pulled out some old (6 years! wow!) Domino mags.. they are still just so good. Speaking of.. I still need to go to the book store to pick up their special issue.

Untitled
My sweet friend Natalie gave me this lily plant for the BBQ. I like it a lot, it feels a bit edgy (maybe because the petals are so spiky?)

For two years I have resisted putting our toothpaste and toothbrushes out on the counter.. we don't have drawers on our vanity (I know, annoying!) so we've always kept them in a cheap plastic tray in the medicine cabinet, except that ugly cheap plastic tray always stayed out on the counter. I finally got rid of it and added the toothbrushes/toothpaste/contact case to our tray on the counter. At least it's stored somewhat nicely and it keeps our countertop clear of clutter ;)

  7. The lily is beautiful! I just want to let you know, though, that lilies are poisonous to cats, so please be sure that your furry friend stays away from it. :)

  8. Leave it to West Elm to make a chevron pillow I don't hate. Every time I think I'm so over the chevron trend, I find something chevron I really like. I'm into the looser, ikat-y /tribal looking chevron like the pillows, beautiful.

P.S. Don't waste your pennies on the Domino special edition... I sort of felt like they just stole a bunch of blog content and put it on paper. In my opinion :)

  10. Funny--I too just pulled out a bunch of dominos for my beach trip reading :)  And for what it's worth, I wouldn't waste your time on the special edition, I thought it was completely disappointing--mostly re-hashed material and without the feel of the original domino...
