I owe this Friday Find to Pinterest. This screen from World Market (yes, World Market again) popped up on my Pinterest page:
And I thought.... HEADBOARD! I've been wanting a headboard for the guest room, well, since we moved in. And I've been coveting this look for a loooong long time since this was published in Cottage Living (probably in 2007 or 2008?)
I remember looking into buying the screen/headboard used in this feature. It was from Ballard (I don't think they have it anymore) and was around $600.
Anyway, I can't believe the World Market one looks so similar! And it was $200. Yes!!
It's very new, just got into stores this week and I think the color on their site is incorrect. The screen is actually natural linen colored, not ivory like they say on the site. I thought maybe they had two colors, but the SKU numbers are the same.
And here it is in my guest room:
It turned out that the headboard, Euros and bed skirt are all the same color. But I actually like it!
Next on my list for this room are dark bamboo shades and an awesome bolster pillow. I'm also going to spray paint the lamps glossy white.
If you need an inexpensive headboard, this is a great option! :)

Love it!! I would love to use this in my guest room/office as well. Fits perfectly in your space!
ReplyDeleteGreat find! It's perfect in your guest bedroom. I am so sad that we do not have a World Market anywhere near me. Although, my wallet may be happy...
ReplyDeleteThat looks great, what a deal!
ReplyDeleteGreat find, Bryn. I think World Market needs to start paying you as a rep.!
ReplyDeleteI love this idea! It looks so custom and expensive. I really like the neutral palette you have going on!
ReplyDeleteI forgot to ask, what size bed is in your guest room. The screen fits perfectly!
ReplyDeleteIt looks great! I love the height element it adds to the room.
ReplyDeleteWell done, Bryn! What a great idea! I actually love that it matches your Euro shams! Can't wait to see what bolster fabric you choose!
ReplyDeleteI love it! What a great idea for a headboard, and not too expensive either.
ReplyDeleteDid you attach it to the bed or the wall? I have a mid century modern vintage screen as my head board and am unsure of how to connect it so that it's not constantly hitting the wall in one place or another. Thoughts?
ReplyDeleteLooks gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteLooks great! Thanks for the wonderful idea.
ReplyDeleteHappy Friday!
That looks great! Oh how I LOVED Cottage Living! Another great magazine I miss.
ReplyDeleteLooks great!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great find! I might have to steal your idea!
ReplyDeleteIt looks GREAT! However, forever a lover the "pop" I sorta yearn for a pop of color in the room. But I am also digging the tranquilly that ir brings.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great and inexpensive substitute without losing the chic design element of the piece! Wow! great looking bed for sure.
ReplyDeleteI love it, and I also love the pillows with the ruffles. Pretty!

ReplyDeleteI can't wait to come and visit again and stay there, it's all coming together so nicely, a little at a time, AND I won't have to listen to the 'scratching' at the window anymore! love, loVE, LOVE!!!
ReplyDeleteI love this look! Such a calming space that any guest would be sure to love.
ReplyDeletelove the screen headboard! great find!
ReplyDeletei love it!
ReplyDeleteThat looks great! Awesome find.
ReplyDeletegood thinking. it looks wonderful. can't wait to see what else you do with the room.
ReplyDeleteI love this as a headboard - it's absolutely brilliant!!! I wonder about spraying the lamps white though.. they will have less of a presence in the room and white may clash with the walls and lampshade. Can't wait to see it all come together!
ReplyDeleteI adore this bryn!!! Now where can i put one in my house ;)
ReplyDeleteGenious!!! That screen is beuatiful and what a perfect use for it. Great price too!!
ReplyDeleteFAB U LOUS!!!
ReplyDelete200.00.....I must run to WM!!!
This morning received a DWELL email with an upholstered nailhead headboard pictured that is real similar to the shape of this screen. Great idea to use the World Market screen this way and if you ever tire of it, you've got a floor screen :)
