Purple Mountain Majesties

I hope everyone had a WONDERFUL Fourth of July! You may have noticed by my lack of posts that we have been traveling. We got home last night from Colorado.

In college Matt and I had a group of really great friends. I lived with my best friend, Erin, for half of college and my husband (boyfriend at the time) lived with her husband (boyfriend at the time), Drew for half of college. Did you get that? Drew and Matt also lived with another best friend, Jeremy. Well we all ended up marrying our college sweethearts, and Jeremy was the last of the group to get married. Luckily for us he decided on a destination wedding in Breckenridge, CO! So we have spent the last 6 days in beautiful Colorado.

Luckily for us, our BFFs Erin and Drew live in Denver so we split our time at their place, their parents mountain home in Georgetown, and in Breckenridge for the wedding.

Here is Erin (my roommate in college) and Drew (Matt's roommate in college):

They just had a baby 3 months ago and she is absolutely adorable:

(Poor Andy, whose boyfriend Tay was in the wedding, kept getting grouped with us girls. We kept joking it was like the Modern Family episode when Cam kept getting grouped with the Moms. But he was a great sport and of course we adored him!)

The wedding was GORGEOUS and SO moving. Seriously, I cried. It was embarrassing... let's blame it on the altitude :)

Our guys looked mighty handsome in their tuxes!

The reception was a blast, complete with a photo booth and an impromptu dance off.

"The Pink Ladies" - we all wore pink to the wedding and green to the rehearsal dinner, ha!

We all went white water rafting (scary but SO FUN!):

I miss everyone so much already!! We all laughed SO much and so hard our stomachs hurt... we've vowed to get together every year :)

And you know what happens when you go on vacation... time for some major catching up!

  7. Crazy!! Yes I LOVED it and will definitely be back. See the second to last image? That home is my bf's parents home there.. they bought it and are renovating it. It was built in the 1870s. So much history, I love it!

  9. If you do go back aim for the first 2 weekends in December. Georgetown goes all out with Christmas decorations and a Christmas market. Seriously like a Victorian Christmas. Something everyone must experience once! And if you can check out "A Christmas Gift" starring John Denver. It was a made-for-TV movie that gets shown a lot around Christmas on different channels so you kind of have to search for it - though has never been released on DVD. It was filmed there in 1985 when I was just a kid. I know some of the extras. :)

  11. What a great trip!  We moved to Charlotte 9 months ago from Denver & still long everyday to go back - we feel much more at home there than here in the south.  Mountain Sun Brewery was one of our favorite hang-outs - the one in Denver, but we've spent some time in Georgetown too.  I'm so glad you loved big sky country!

  13. Hi Bryn,
I am actually getting married here in Colorado next summer -- we live in Denver but want a wedding in the mountains. Would you mind to share the name of the venue so I can look into it.

Glad you enjoyed this beautiful state!

I grew up in Littleton but have priceless memories of caroling with my show choir in Georgetown. It was the highlight of each year. Missy is so right, Georgetown is lovely during the holidays! What a crazy small world.

Oh how your photos are making me homesick! My hubby and I are both from CO. We met while going to CSU in Fort Collins but he is from Estes Park and I from Littleton. Breck was one of my favorite places, I still crave mexican from Mi Casa downtown Breck. Looks like a wonderful trip
