One big congrats!

Something is in the water in blogland... so many of my favorite bloggers have recently had babies, and two of them just announced their pregnancies this week! Congrats to Maria Fe and Nicole!

It's not our time yet, but I do love reading about motherhood and how these amazing women can have it all (careers + blogs + babies).

However.. when it is our time, I'll be ready. Matt's grandmother brought this fabric to us in May and the first thing I thought was "it'd be great for a little girl's nursery!" It's vintage, probably from the 60's or 70's:

And once I saw the fabric, I knew this print would be perfect with it:

Who knows if we will ever have a girl, but if we ever do... I'm ready :)

ps- I am probably crazy for thinking about designing a nursery before even thinking about having kids, but I don't feel so bad.. I remember Erika bought a bassinet before she was ever pregnant :) So I'm not the only one!

pps- I also just realized it's a bit crazy that I remembered Erika's post from Sept of 2008! Have I really been blogging that long? wow.

  9. Not crazy at all! I'm not really a baby/kid person, but I love to think about nurseries, and have my imaginary children's planned out. First on my list? For Like Ever poster, framed, in a girls' nursery. Who cares if it's everywhere - I adore it! Boys room? Glossy red painted Jenny Lind crib. You're not the only one who goes into this much detail :)

  13. LOVE the fabric and the print. You aren't too weird (or maybe we're weird together..) I saw a print on etsy and there was no holding me back. I KNEW it had to hang in my little (non existent) baby girl's room. And ya know what? almost 2 years later, it hangs so prettily above her changing table. every time I look at it it brings me such joy knowing that I planned for her and loved her that much even before she was the tiniest thing. Ah tears. Anyway.

  14. ha! enjoyed looking back at Urban Grace circa 2008. I am like that too. I actually have to stay off of those two's blogs because I start talking about them to my husband like I know them. I literally made him look at Darby's farm pictures last week and then requested for his parents to buy something similar so our kids could have the same fun....and we don't have kids.
