Hardware Love

Hardware can really bring in tons of personality to your home. For instance, I really hate this piece, but I love the hardware (I purchased at Anthro), so for now it's okay.

The less knobs you have, the crazier you can go with them. But when you have a project that has more than just a couple, stay simple. (You can still find "cool" knobs that aren't as "loud").

MIL and I are working on a project that requires 8 knobs... here are some of my contenders:

And my personal favorite....

Can't wait until this little project is done! :)

  2. Nice Choices! I love the nickel and glass, those are so classic.

  3. That's the first thing I did when we moved to our house...took the brass knobs off of everything! The bathrooms got spoiled with Anthro knobs, everywhere else had to settle with Lowes. :)

  4. I love the cupboard latch! Our linen closet has the original bronze cupboard latch on it from the 1920s. Can't see what project you have in store for these knobs!

  5. I love them all. Sometimes it's so hard to pick when you have such great options to choose from.

  7. If you really hate that television console, have you considered painting it white? I think that could actually make it look like a totally different piece!

  9. Good! You can help us pick out (and install?) hardware for our (outdated) kitchen cabinets while you're here... :) Mom

  10. I'm in the process of painting my dresser. It has 17 knobs on it. The knobs that came with it were little wooden ones that matched the wood of the dresser. As much as I would love to replace them, I'm afraid that so many would just scream KNOBS!

  11. another easy upgrade you can do is to buy and stain legs and attach them to the bottom... legs always make furniture feel classier, i think! ~*S*~

  12. Hey I'm jumping on board the PAINT THE CABINET WHITE train, a nice glossy white or off white. oo and if youre feeling adventurous, maybe place mirrors (mirror tiles are cheap) in the boxes. i dont know, its an idea and it can tide you over until you can replace it.

  14. I LOVE that cupboard latch! And I totally agree with your assessment of simple is better when you have a lot. I redid a dresser for our baby's nursery that had 12 knobs. Was so tempting to do something more elaborate but in the end I went with a simple white knob from Anthro.
