A Bun in the Oven

I've started putting together a plan for Sterin's baby shower (I guess I should just say Erin since Steve won't be there).

I decided to do a "bun in the oven" theme - I knew it was perfect when Erin told me NO cheesy games! I thought, what could we do instead? And the idea came to be - we'll make our own Cinnabons to play off the "bun in the oven" saying. I saw a recipe online somewhere and I thought it would be a blast.

Today I found a great modern pattern on istockphoto to create the invitation:

And I've started an idea board of all the ideas I have for the party (how fab are those paper plates and napkins? Budget friendly, too.)

It's once in a blue moon that I like to host a party, but when I do I like to go all out. I picked the color green because Erin and Steve (and Matt and I) painted their baby's room green way back before it was ever conceived, so I thought it would be fitting :)

I thought a raffle would be fun and functional to do, too. This gives people an excuse to buy Erin and Steve some items that aren't as fun but definitely needed: diapers and wipes. For the raffle prize I'm thinking some cooking items and definitely this:

As you can see, the party is in about two and a half months, so I have some time to plan... but you know me, I needed to get a head start!

Update: Here is the recipe I found, I have not made them yet so don't hold me to it, but it has 5 out of 5 stars with 133 votes- so I'm guessing it's pretty good ;)

  1. What a great idea! They will LOVE you for all the diapers & wipes they get. Would you mind sharing the recipe (or the link) for the cinnabons?

  2. Super cute theme! I love to go all out for parties so I understand the desire. If you are going to do it, might as well do it right!

  3. Great idea to use an idea board. I love hosting parties with themes. The bun in the oven idea is awesome. Just a suggestion: you could probably find some cheap pot holders or dish towels for a favor and decorate them to match your theme. I love getting favors that are functional. I can't wait to hear how it all goes.
