Two Blue Walls

I keep coming back to these two images lately:

You know what I really like about these two spaces? They both feature a vivid blue wall color that, in a different scenario, could feel juvenile. But the furnishings really make it feel sophisticated.

This delicate balance between "fun" and "sophisticated" is a skill I try to hone in on.. it's my ultimate style goal.

And while writing this post, I discovered both rooms are designed by Antony Todd. I'm officially his newest fan!

  2. GORGEOUS. both of them. blue can be so playful...loving the level of simplicity and sophistication both designers created with such a bold hue. Thanks for your fabulous posts!

  5. I felt compelled to comment on this -- we just painted our future son's nursery navy blue (the same Martha Stewart color that Stefanie over at Brooklyn Limestone chose for her daughter's room). We have white trim, white closet doors and a white crib and dresser in that room and the effect is totally modern (if I do say so myself!). We opted for a kilim on the floor and a striped armchair, which makes the room feel much less "baby." So yes, blue walls are awesome!

That bottom one was my inspiration wall color pic for our living room...and now we have a dark teal living room! We went with Benjamin Moore "teal" and we love it!
