Color Inspiration - Straight From Real Life

I'm knee deep in some wonderful projects right now. I just got the "ok" on a color palette and design plan from a client and I thought it'd be fun to share it with you. This color palette was taken straight from real life.. a glass of red wine:

Seriously.. isn't red wine beautiful? Even if you aren't a big drinker (like me), you can't deny it's pretty.... the way it catches the light and changes colors.

The inspired color palette:

wine

Colors such as magenta, plum, grape.. but there will be no mention of "burgundy". Burgundy is still blacklisted along with "mauve" and "hunter green". ;)

The starting off point for this color palette is one of my all time favorite fabrics from Lee Jofa:

We all remember this image from Domino:

Christina Murphy has a beautiful "wine" room in her portfolio:

Cheers!

  7. Hmm, perhaps it is! It's still on the Lee Jofa website (which usually means it's not. Hmm) I just called in a memo with my showroom, so I guess I'll find out shortly :)

If it IS disco'd then I'll get it here:  http://www.etsy.com/listing/75297317/lee-jofa-groundworks-la-fiorentina-20

  14. These colors are wonderful. Those features of the home and how the color blends perfectly are just amazing. In this age of remodeling and renovations applying this color scheme to any home could prove beneficial. Asking the help and opinion of professionals will also be invaluable. Thank you for sharing!
