A throw pillow.. for me! :)

Every single day I pick out pretty pillows for other people.. but we've lived in this house for a year and I have yet to get one for myself.. until now! It's actually pretty funny if you think about it.

In our family room, we've been using two blue pillows from when we lived in California and two pillow forms with no case (ah!) for the past year. You can see that situation in this picture here:

The throw pillow in the vintage chair was purchased for a client, but he didn't need it so I kept (and don't worry, paid for it) instead.

Well, if you remember back in this post, I decided to put a Nympheus pillow in our family room. A couple months later.. it's here!

I purchased the pillow (in June, before my spending freeze haha) from Etsy seller Woody Liana. She was so sweet and great to work with, and her construction was flawless.

Cute package!

I got to pick every little detail.. the front and the back pattern, the color of the welt.

I love it!!!

You can see in the above picture the other fabrics I have for this room. Here they are in more detail:

The charcoal Betwixt will be two pillows on my sofa. The striped fabric Liana sent to me because she knew it would go with my new Nympheus pillow!! SO sweet! I'm going to use it for a lumbar on the sofa. The two blues are going to be a front and back of a new blue pillow behind the Nympheus pillow.

As I mentioned during my no-spend month of July, making these pillows is on my to-do list. It will be a free project (I already own all the materials) and I can finally have a room with throw pillows in it! yay!

Still sooo much left to do in this room.. the biggest thing is an art installation above the sofa + chaise. But that will have to wait.

  1. What a cute pillow! I am in desperate need for some since we moved too. I really need to take some sewing lessons. Loved her shop! Excited to see the rest of your pillows when they are finished.

  12. One of my favorite fabrics! And I like the ones you chose for the other pillows as well. Have you shared where that little brass table is from? I hadn't noticed it before, but I like it!

  13. I've been wondering for a while so I will just ask. Your chaise has always had its back flush to the wall, while I most often see chaises used at an angle toward the middle of the room. Is there a specific reason you're bucking the trend, or a simple matter of preference? Just curious!

  15. I've wondered the same thing about the chaise. If it were a chair, you wouldn't have it flush with the wall right beside the sofa...right? Is it there to stay. Seems off, like way off.

  17. It's exciting to see color and pattern being introduced! They all look great together. Are curtains in the future? The rest of the room is going to be so jealous of your sofa wall with all the interesting pillows.

  18. Where did you get the woven woods you have in your living room?  We just moved into a new house & I've been looking all over for something like that but haven't found the right wood mix.  Thinking the ones you have could work.  Thanks!
