Canary Yellow

Last week, a beautiful bright canary yellow finch landed on our patio set and I sat and stared at it until it flew away. It was so beautiful! It looked just like this...

On Friday, I found myself day dreaming about bright yellow drapery, like this:

I just now linked the two events.. it goes to show inspiration often does come from nature!

Oh, how I dream of beautiful silk canary yellow drapes for our living room. Can you imagine how HAPPY it would make the room? Plumridge.com has a beautiful yellow:

I can't help but wonder if textured burlap could create a similar "look for less"?

This burlap is only $4.95/yard!

Of course, silk is the best choice.. but burlap may create an interesting affect, especially as the light streams through it. Do you love how I think out loud on my blog? ;)

  5. I can't see the canary pic, but I think yellow curtains would be very happy to look at! I love to add yellow in accessories rather than paint. I have found, over the years, yellow paint to be "difficult."

  6. OMG how serendipitous! I just painted our living room grey and am searching high and low for the perfect yellow curtains! I don't sew though so I'll need to go pre-made much as I love the idea of crafting my own. Can't wait to see if you do the burlap!
