Bathroom Inspiration

I can't believe in two weeks and a couple days we'll be closing on our first home!

I've had this bathroom saved in my folder forever and it's become the inspiration for our master bathroom which already has beadboard installed.

We don't have an antique tub, but I do plan on painting the vanity black.

Want to see the current state (previous owners)?

The first thing to go in the house is the popcorn ceilings. We're having them removed before we move in.

Renovations will be slow and done by us.. paint first and then things like flooring later down the road. But I do have dreams of marble tile like in the inspiration image. Key word - dreams.

Here are some great marble deals if any of you out there are making dreams become reality:

  1. Although the penny tile may look cute, can you imagine the work it would take to clean floors like that? Maybe that will act as to console you.... ;)

  4. Congrats on the closing date!

A couple of the things I can recommend from experience, is to do a complete gut reno of the bathroom -remove all the walls, reconfigure the electric, add shower light and sconce lighting in the places you want it for instance, change the layout of the fixtures if possible, etc.

  6. Bryn it looks great! I'm a big believer in doing a house up, slowly, so you can design it how YOU want. You won't regret it! Love the inspiration pics!

  7. I'm so excited to follow along as you design your new home!

I can see that you're making smart decisions already by doing the popcorn now! I removed all of the popcorn in my home myself while living there and it was a mess. I wished the whole time that I had the option of doing it before my furniture moved in. It was all worth it... popcorn must be the worst idea ever!
