Passion

Obviously you guys know I have a passion for interior design and decorating. But related to that, I have a passion of "upcycling".

Take this Salvation Army chair for instance:

after

And this desk:

after

I have many more pieces that I've redone but I need to scrounge up the before's!

Anyway, I've decided now that I work from home I have time to start doing more of these projects. Yesterday I picked up this amazing settee:

It is in perfect shape, amazingly comfortable and the perfect size for a round dining room table or an entryway.

I really don't know what I'm going to do with it just yet (obviously reupholster and paint), but once I'm finished with it, it will be for sale! I'm excited to flex my creative muscles in this new way.

If you might be interested, feel free to email me. Especially now that I haven't done anything with it... we could work together to make something fit for your home.

  2. I really wish I had more time to do this kind of stuff. But it's fun to see other people doing it! Thanks. Can't wait to see what happens with that settee.

  5. Bryn, question for you...
Do you do your own upholstery? If so, how did you learn? I really want to figure out how to do this myself. A local community college was offering classes before but they discontinued them this year.

    Furniture looks great!

  6. Honestly - I really like the upholstery. I think it just needs to be painted white and distressed and it would be beautiful! Very shabby chic.

  19. There used to be a large Salvation Army store on Central Ave. I think it is still there but I haven't been in a while. They used to have an annual spring sale where they put all of the furniture out in the parking lot - quite the bonanza. The Habitat for Humanity store over on Wendover has also been a really good source...especially for old headboards and footboards that just need some TLC and paint.
