Looks like a fiddle fig to me (a total fave of decorators). It seems like they pop up everywhere!
I would love to have one in my home but I'm pretty sure plants start dying the second I decide to purchase them. I don't know what my problem is!! My mom can make a pile of saw dust sprout! boo.
yeppers. fig. let's see how many people tell you that it's a fig tree even though they read all the comments where 4 people so far tell you it's a fig tree. it'll be awesome.
I actually see these in model homes everywhere. they are beautiful. I saw them IKea once and they were so big. One would not fit in my car and I was so bummed. They were in perfect condition. You should check Ikea.
Ficus lyrata-Fiddle Leaf Fig-Here’s a great website that gives you all the info you’d need to care for it. Just planted one for a client, they’re great, enjoy!
i think they are kind of jerks to take care of. and they can be expensive if you want a big one. i opted for a rubber tree instead. although, the leaves aren't quite as pretty. :(

Hi Bryn! Sorry to tag another comment on here, but I wanted to share my experience - I have one of these myself (fiddle leaf fig). I had been all over my city for months to find one with no luck. My mom was randomly at Ace Hardware one day, and they had one about 4 ft high and it was only ... $15!!!! Amazing price. So, it was definitely worth being patient on this one. It is a bit fickle about the amount of water it needs. I have had it about 2 months, and so far so good! Just make sure it gets the right amount of light. The leaves are even more beautiful in person. So happy with it!

ReplyDeleteFiddle leaf fig. It's a type of ficus.
ReplyDeleteI love those!! I have two in my house right now that have somehow survived. I've never had a ficus survive with me, but these are even growing!
you crazy! i love plants indoors! the more the merrier (assuming they are alive and well, nothing worst than a dead plant as a centerpiece)
ReplyDeleteHmmm it looked like a banana tree to me!
