I just got a GREAT email from Sparkpeople.com. I decided to share it with you because in the email it asked me to "forward on to friends and family". What better way to share with my friends and family than to post it up in my blog?
So here it is.... this is a SHOCKING comparison of 300-Calorie meals!
For all you Resolution-er's out there, I hope this helps you when making good meal decisions.
And speaking of, I thought I'd take this opportunity to share with you my personal eating healthy experience. In August, I made a lifestyle change to start eating healthier. I made small changes that really counted - more fruits & veggies, less fast food, etc. Just simple changes. Then in Dec, as you know, I started excercising. Well I can proudly say I've lost 10 pounds since Aug! Yes, it's taken 6 months, but I'm pretty surprised how much weight I've actually lost considering I only made small, simple changes and skipped the whole dieting thing. I'm still planning on losing more, but I'm not going to beat myself up over it. If I can lose another 10 in the next 6 months, I'd be happy!

That is really eye opening! Especially since my fave sandwich at Panera is the Sierra Turkey.
ReplyDeleteKudos to you! :)
Am I totally crazy but I could have sworn a whole wheat bagel more than 300 calories? Is that a postage stamp sized bagel?
ReplyDeleteWow! Great post!
ReplyDeleteIt really is crazy how many calories you can save by making a few simple changes. Congratulations on the weight lose.
ReplyDeleteGreat work with the weight loss. It's amazing what small diet changes can do. I noticed some pounds falling off (before I became pregnant of course) when I quit (more like weened myself) drinking soda. There are so many hidden calories out there!
ReplyDeleteWOW for real! You get alot. When I start back eating I will reference this post. (LOL)
ReplyDeleteWow this is definitely eye-opening Bryn, thanks for posting! Gives me some great ideas for healthy eating choices!
ReplyDeleteThat is a really great post. I never realized the difference until seeing it.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the weight loss Bryn! That's awesome!
ReplyDeleteOh, and I'll take the left side of the screen please! It's amazing the differences between the two.

ReplyDeleteoh wow...kinda scary right? Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteMrs. Limestone,
ReplyDeleteIt depends on the bagel. The ones I buy from Whole Foods are 3oz and ~250 cal per bagel. Most bagels are dense and weigh in at around 4 oz or more.
Wow, such a great post! Thank you! I will be showing the fiance that one!
ReplyDeleteWow, thanks so much for posting this!
ReplyDeleteThis is crazy! Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI always wonder what restaurants are putting in their food to make them so high calorie. I mean, some options are obviously going to have higher calories than others, but for example how is a restaurant veggie burger so much more caloric than store-bought (and therefore also not homemade, which is where you can really control things)?
