Quick & Easy Updates

When the New Year hit, I was motivated to get some things done that I had been dragging my feet on for a while.

First up was some sort of window treatments in our Living Room.

For so long, we've had nothing on our windows:

And it started bothering me. I was originally wanting to hold out for custom window panels.. but I figured bamboo shades would work well in the mean time (and I can keep them up if/when I eventually do get custom drapes).

Good ole Overstock... these are my go-to bamboo shades and I got 4 for $175. They have practically any size you would need!

They make the room feel much more "finished"... which is exactly what I was going for! Cross that off the list.

Next up, I've needed a mirror for our master bedroom for AGES. Finally one morning I was sick of looking at the large blank spot where a mirror should go, and grabbed one from our storage attic.

I actually don't mind it! This is a great case of "good enough" :)

It's leaning, but I secured it to the wall with a hook.

And in case you're curious... the other side of our room:

Done & done!

  10. I love your Living Room... the art over your sofa, the gold lamp, the black wingback chairs. I know the point was the shades, and those are great, but LOVE all those other things a lot. Gorgeous!
