A couple weeks ago when I was cleaning and organizing my office on a Sunday afternoon, Marie Antoinette was on TV. I hadn't seen it in a while and fell in love with it again (seriously.. one of my favorite movies ever!)
And I was especially drooling over the dessert scene.
I'm such a sweets girl... sometimes I eat a little bit of dinner just to get to dessert! When I saw those gorgeous french macarons on TV I couldn't get them out of my mind..
So last week my husband was in Hong Kong all week! I missed him like crazy BUT the silver lining was there was a Laduree store there :) My birthday is Friday, so I requested can he pretty please bring home some of those perfectly pretty cookies for me?
I had never tried them before, but they were everything I had hoped they would be! It was one of the best birthday presents ever :)
The lemon poppy seed cake turned out really good, too. I really did feel like Marie Antoinette yesterday eating an excessive amount of sweets.
I hope you all had a wonderful weekend and were able to have some sweet treats, too! Now it's back to reality and my normal source of sugar.. fruit!

I would give anything to be able to reach through my screen and eat those beauties- they look amazing!
ReplyDeleteHappy early birthday!!
That movie is one of my favorites too. Lucky you with getting such a great birthday treat from your husband!
