Here was my mantel decorated for the Home Depot style challenge:
We had to turn in our images super early (before Halloween) and I took down the mantel since I was hosting a Halloween themed book club the next day.
We are traveling for the Holidays this year, so I decided to go a lot more simple with my actual Holiday decorating. I bought a mini real tree instead of dragging down our large fake white one. The plan is to use real materials that I can just toss before we leave town.
We have these trees lining our backyard, and I don't know why I haven't ever thought to use them before!!
This was my inspiration picture (shown last week):

So I cut some branches...
And I twisted them together with green ornament hooks:
And added two wooden candlesticks I already own, and done!
It was so easy, I don't know why I haven't done this before! And even better.. it will be just as easy tossing it at the end of the season :)
I love this simplified version - I think I will attempt to create something similar for my own mantel! Thanks for the inspiration :)

ReplyDeleteI love your home depot version, the hanging ornaments is a really cute idea!
ReplyDeleteIt's beautiful! I love it when nature gives us free, beautiful decor! :) How did you hang your wreath?
ReplyDeleteYour mantel is beautiful - both ways! That mirror is perfect for the spot!

Love both mantles! Did you attach the greenery to the fireplace or is it laying there on its own?
ReplyDeleteLove fresh greenery, elegant and simple mantle, but also appreciate the first mantle, cute idea to hang the ornaments.
ReplyDeleteLove the fresh greenery!
ReplyDeleteUsing what you have! :) Love it. Looks so wonderful and Christmasy!
