I have 12,923,580,259,802 things to unpack and do before my husband's parents come in from California at 4:45 today (!!!), so a quick little post is in order.
I wanted to share with you our new bar (in progress). Although not big drinkers, husband and I share a love for vintage barware.
I'm going to be keeping things real around the blog now that we are in our house. Unfinished walls and electrical sockets are how we roll right now. I should have moved Char's ugly water dispenser though.. it's her master bedroom reserve and actually does need to be moved.. ANYWAY! :)
IKEA sells the best little shelf for only $15. It has such great clean lines, and even the galvanized silver is pretty cool if used in the right setting. I'm going to prime this baby and spray paint it an eggshell or satin black. I'm hoping the after will channel this amazing piece from Room & Board:
Let's consider this post the "before".. I'm planning on the after's to look something as polished as this image from Lonny:

Hmmmm. Seems like there are a few pieces I had on there last night that are missing in this pic... Yay for Moonshine!
ReplyDeletelove your bar & the 'keeping it real' pictures - excited to see the documented progress on your new home!
ReplyDeleteYour new house is beautiful Bryn! I bought three decanters for my bar (similar to the ones on your shelf) last year at a yard sale. Unfortunately they didn't come with tops, do you know where you can buy them? I've been keeping my eyes peeled for them everywhere I go but haven't found any!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the new house. I love all your ideas and inspirations for decorating, and I love/must have that ikea shelf!!!
ReplyDeleteLove the new bar area! And love even more that you're "keepin' it real". In real life things are never really finished and cats always need water! Perfect is boring ;)
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see how your new house comes along.
Wow, for not being drinkers, you guys sure have lots of wine! I'm sure that will keep all the guests coming to visit your new home happy! :)
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the new house! I bet it's so fun having a blank canvas!
Such a great stand for the bar area!
