Holiday Love List

Happy 12/12! Can you believe there are only 13 days left until Christmas? I've seen Holiday gift guides popping up all over blogs and Pinterest, but I thought I would keep things simple and share what's on my love list this Holiday season!
1 - Vintage Ornaments - I've always loved vintage ornaments, specifically for the colors. You can't find colors like this new! I've been thinking about starting the tradition of buying one set (like this) per year and work towards creating a huge collection that could cover a tree.

2 - Golden Pinecone Stocking - Now that we have a little one on the way, I've been looking for stockings that we can monogram and hang every year. I love these because they are neutral and somewhat simple (and would go with a lot of different types of Christmas decor). I love the pattern!

3 - Bringing Up Bebe Book - I've heard a lot about this book and from what I've heard, I love the concept. I've added it to my Christmas list!

4 - Zara Biker Jacket - I've recently pinned a lot of outfits with big chunky sweaters and motorcycle jackets. I have my eye on this one!

5 - Striped Baby Booties - I put these on my list for baby boy.. I love, love, love them! I have a feeling the majority of his entire wardrobe is going to be stripes.

6 - Bobbi Brown Pot Rouge - My skin always gets dry in the winter and I've been wanting to get some cream or gel blush instead of my normal powder. I've heard great things about this one!

7 - Clarke Chair - I've had two new chairs for our family room on my "wish list" for a while.. I'll go ahead and add these to my "Christmas Wish List" :) I love chairs with upholstered legs!

8 - Oyster Bracelet - I'd love to add more bracelets to my jewelry collection, and this would be the perfect "starter" piece.

9 - Pehr Storage Bin - I know we'll soon be overwhelmed with toys in our house.. I have this storage bin on my wish list to help round them up.

Loving Lately...

Happy Monday! Here is a collection of things I've been loving lately :)
I really need more jackets I can dress up or down like this one... (love this layered look, too!)
Maternity style inspiration... yup, need more jackets.
On a whim, I ordered these flush mount lights for my kitchen to replace the cheap pendants we currently have. We need more light!! And I actually really like the simple look of these. Kitchen post coming soon...
Bad quality picture, amazing room!
I'm crossing my fingers for a boy so I can do a masculine library-like nursery with dark emerald green walls ;)
Okay, a girl would be fun too... I STILL love Erika's first nursery from about 4 years ago... especially this little peek into the room that shows her eclectic mix of pieces.
We find out the gender a week from today! :)

Loving Lately

1 // Striped Sidney Top from Anthro // I love that this top looks super comfortable but pulled together at the same time. A perfect "Closet Classic".

2 // Anne Klein Nude Heels // I have a pair of heels very similar to this, but I bought them for around $25 at Marshalls. I LOVE them and wear them all the time. But they aren't real leather and they are falling apart. Since I love the look so much, it's time to invest in some that are real leather. The reviews on these are pretty much perfect!

3 // J.Crew Cafe Capri // Another "Closet Classic" piece I've been needing, a perfect pair of slim black cropped pants. I need to dedicate an entire post to them. I'm going to try these or J.Crew's Minnie.

4 // Navy & Yellow Print by Clare Elsaesser // I am in love with this pop up shop from my friend Chelsea! This print is my favorite of the three.

5 // Maroc Rug // I just recently added this new item to my shop. I am loving that this rug is graphic yet neutral at the same time. It's so perfect for a natural space that needs a little funkiness.

6 // Marie Pillow Topped Ottoman // I do a ton of ottomans (they are so functional!) and this one recently caught my eye because it's so different from what I usually do. I'll have to try it out sometime!

7 // Pure Cherry Cashew Bar //  File this one under random, but I had to add this to the list. I am obsessed with these bars.. they are SO good and they are organic and gluten free. I'm not a sit down for breakfast type of girl, so I have these almost every day while heading out the door. I've also tried the brownie one (omg yum) and I would love to try the other flavors, too. I get them at Trader Joe's.

Loving Lately

Thank you guys for all your comments yesterday, it's nice to know I'm not the only one out there that's a little crazy :)

It's been a while since I've done a "loving lately" post, so here we go!

1. My husband got some new glasses this week and I love them. Sexy!!

2. Madewell Transport Tote, $168 - The perfect leather tote with both black and cognac leather. And it has a zippered pouch so you don't have to embarrassingly fish for your keys in front of clients (yes, I'm referring to myself).

3. Wisteria Very Skinny Floor Lamp, $179 - This would be the perfect little lamp to go next to my Plycraft lounger.

4. West Elm Porter Dining Chair, $250 - A new take on ticking stripe. I love this simple, classic looking chair.. it could be used anywhere.

5. Schoolhouse Electric Sconce, $175 - Simply beautiful and classic, nuff said.

6. Quiet Distance Painting at Slate Interiors in Charlotte, $1,395 - I saw this gorgeous painting at Slate yesterday and can't stop thinking about it (that's what good art does to you).

Crushin'

I currently have some major crushes...

This wall color. It's bold but so pretty and DEEP. That's a good word to describe it. I really want to copy cat it.

This peplum top.. I am going to Charleston in May and I think this would be perfect!

Jenny's easy fix to inexpensive chairs. AMAZING. Seriously. Amazing.

The VERY FIRST grandbaby on either side of my family.... my cousin just had a son named Mason. That little lip! That hair! It's a strange thing seeing a baby and knowing he's FAMILY. Sooo cute. I can't wait to hold him.

The colors of Bengal Bazaar in this pillow (I tried looking up this colorway and I couldn't find it.. maybe it's new or disco'd??)

It's really fun when you've been crushing on a mirror for a year, and your friend/owner of the shop you work at says "man I really want to move out this mirror" and you realize it's perfect for your entry, and your friend says "I'll sell it to you for cheap" and it works great. :)

This room has come together pretty slowly without a real plan, but I like how it's turning out. I'm going to look for a show-stopper lamp for the entry chest at Market.

Currently on my want/need list....

I have this habit of putting my drink glasses on my stack of magazines that sit in the tray on my ottoman. Then I get sad when my House Beautiful gets warped pages.

These are really pretty solutions to this problem :)

Have a great weekend!

Currently loving....

A couple things that have caught my eye lately!

While in the depths of hell summer, I've been eying this beautiful patio chair from IKEA:

I first saw it at IKEA and sat in it.. it's very comfortable. I would buy 6 of them asap if I didn't have other priorities.

Bling bling! Love this pull from Anthro:

It'd be really sexy on a white piece of furniture.

Apparently I'm currently loving white (well that's nothing new).. here is another white something:

Don't kill me... they are another contender for the kitchen.

I had totally forgotten about these great pendants from CB2 and they are only $50 each. But here is the best part - they take 100 watt bulbs.. which would give us enough light. (I was surprised to see most of you guys said you prefer the West Elm pendants. I love them too.... BUT they only allow 60 watt bulbs and that's just not going to work lighting wise. Damn practicality..) Anyway... this drum pendant is nice and classic AND has a diffuser. One problem we have now is when standing at the island, light glares in our eyes and it's pretty annoying. The diffuser would solve this! Still undecided if you can't tell..

The pendant comes with a plug, but this conversion kit would fix that:

I'm also loving this blog I stumbled upon yesterday.. it's called "Only Things I Love" - how fitting! She has some really great spaces:

Just cause it's fun

Today is my birthday :) And it's the second day of Blogfest which is a pretty cool place to be on my birthday!

Just cause it's fun, I thought I'd put together a group of birthday presents in dream land:

Boardwalk Empire: My New Favorite

Anyone out there watch Boardwalk Empire? I love it. I love not only the story line, but the clothes and especially the interiors.

If you don't have HBO, you can go here to watch clips to see the costume and sets.

When the first episode aired, I told my husband that the 50's and 60's trend of Mad Men has now been replaced with the 20's and 30's.

I need some 1920's in my life... I recently came across these beautiful prints on Look Linger Love.

Both prints are by Etsy seller TUSH TUSH.

Aren't they amazing?!

Loving : Antique Dressers w/ Round Wooden Knobs

I'm not sure if these have an official antique name (Georgian?). But lately I've been loving antique dressers with big round wooden knobs.

While I prefer the traditional wood stain, here is a painted version from Cottage Living:

This is not a dresser, but a similar style:

You know I'll be searching Craigslist for one!

I'm in desperate need of a kick ass printer, this one is on my Christmas list:

It's ceramic!

This looks so perfect for lounging... and chic enough for a Starbucks run.

Loving right now: black curtains

Right now in my head I'm loving black curtains. Maybe you aren't brave enough to paint your walls black, like this gorgeous room in Windsor Smith's home:

Or maybe you really want to but can't (like me). Black curtains are a great solution to get a similar bold effect.

I haven't been able to find too many inspiration photos, but there is this one from the Ikea catalog:

But no, this is all wrong. The type of black curtains I imagine in my head are completely opaque. Something like Martha's roman shades:

They would be a very rich fabric like velvet.

Ah ha! A quick google search and I found these:

Black, velvet with a blackout back panel. Perfect!

Then I would line the sides of the panels with a rich color... like terracotta or rust.

And if you are curious, I'd put them in a completely neutral room with lots of large windows, like this:

I'm thankful for my blog where I can log all my obsessions. :)

Right now I'm loving....

I am in love with these fall Etsy finds...

Nomad Cowl in ash

Trio of Maple Log Tea Light Holders

I just wish it were a bit cooler here in Southern Cal...

Look at Friday... "sunshine and summerlike"? No thanks! I guess it could be worse.... it's snowing in Minnesota.
