Coincidence.

I have to admit, I was a bit shocked when I saw this month's issue of House Beautiful come in the mail. Shocked isn't the right idea... it was more like "oh shit!".

It took me a while to decide whether or not I wanted to bring it up or not.

See, back in July I picked one of these for a client of mine..

In September, I picked this fabric for throw pillows for the same room and even blogged about it:

Both of my selections [silver pouf + ikat fabric] were in no way original and have been around for years... but it didn't change the fact that I was a bit nervous when my Dec/Jan 2010 issue of House Beautiful came with the exact same fabric (in a different color) and pouf (in the same color). On the cover.

I just want to put it out there in the universe that this was purely coincidental and that I did not plagiarize! Okay, I feel better.

  16. weren't those pillows supposed to go on MY sofa? lol When you come out with an idea first and THEN see it in a magazine, it isn't plagerizing, it's a compliment to your creativity and talent

  19. My first thought while reading this post was that perhaps someone is stealing ideas from you. After reading the comments I can see that many think the same. You might want to consider designing a copyright logo for your images...your work is too good not to take credit for. ;-)

  20. I totally know that feeling. I wouldn't worry about it at all. I feel the same thing when I see similar jewelry designs.
