Pleated Floral Drapes

"Pleated floral drapes" sounds kind of dated and/or ugly, doesn't it ? I've found that it's so hard to find pictures of pleated floral drapes.. do people not do this anymore?

Since I can't find any pictures of examples, I improvised and pinned my fabric sample to show my client what it would look like as drapery:

Do any of you have pictures of floral drapes in your Pinterest? And if so, can you please link me? Thanks!!!

EDIT - you can find this fabric here!

A little bit of color...

-2

And this will be my pop little bit of color in my new office. Two solid guava pillows (pink), one berry (purple) and one turquoise on a white sofa.

Normally I would dwell on this decision for months and ultimately not commit, but in my efforts to finally get this space DONE I picked these fabrics and sent the order to my showroom in a matter of two days.

And I just realized that the colors remind me of the 90's... and I love it. I am a child of the 90's anyway!

Speaking of.. this show inspired me to be an interior decorator.

She had the coolest room EVER, am I right??

On a more serious note, this is what actually inspired my pillow fabric selection (not Clarissa Explains It All).

Holly Zollinger

You've probably seen Holly Zollinger's fabrics around (Pinterest). In case you haven't, she is a fabric designer on spoonflower.com and has created some really amazing things.

Sometimes I see a fabric on Pinterest and wonder what large fabric house it's from, then I click through and see it's from Holly.

Here are some of my favorites... (click on the image to go to the site)

I think she has a real talent for whimsical fabrics that would be PERFECT in a nursery or kids room.

Woods in Fabric Form

It's no secret I love the Cole & Sons Woods wallpaper (even after a few years I do still love it).

Here it is in one of my first interior decorating projects:

I really love this colorway:

Anyway, if you don't want to commit to the wallpaper, check out this fabric from Lee Jofa by Eric Cohler!

It's a splurge fabric at $198/yard. However, a couple pillows are much more budget friendly then a room full of wallpaper! (If you are interested in the fabric, email me. I always give discounts on designer fabric).

Check in later, I have a really great giveaway for you!!

Mad For Plaid

One of my favorite designers ever, Amy Meier, just posted her new nursery this week. I LOVE it! Here are some images via her blog.

What really stood out to me is that awesome large buffalo check rocker. I'm a big fan of buffalo check furniture. I was going to reupholster the current settee I have in my office in it, but have decided on a small sectional instead.

There are some great large scale buffalo check fabrics on Premier Prints. They aren't quite as large as the one Amy used though.. the repeat is 5 3/8" Horizontal by 6 1/8" Vertical.

All the above fabrics (and more) are here.

I have also had this image saved:

Just ignore the Christmas trees ;)

And I'm sure you've seen the J.Crew buffalo check shirts around the fashion blogs, too.

Fabric Play

Sorry for the lack of post yesterday.. our power went out and we were internet-less for a while. I also was crazy busy and running around town Monday and Tuesday but today I'm back in my office catching up today :)

It just so happen that in the last 48 hours I have been inside four AMAZING Charlotte homes. I wish I could have taken pictures for you. But it's left me crazy inspired and my head and heart full.

On Monday I went by our local showroom and picked up some new fabric memos and played around with them. I've said it before - I live for fabric!

This is one option for a master bedroom I'm working on... I really love that it's completely calm and neutral, but has a lot of pattern.

I put this together before this week, but last night I was in a home that had a completely neutral master in the same colors. It was breathtaking... I may beg the home owner to let me share her house on my blog ;) Anyway, imagine it something like this:

The next two fabric pairings are just me playing around..

I also received the orange fabric for my guest bathroom shower curtain.. can't wait to sew that up:

See the linen fabric draped over the soon-to-be shower curtain? I'm bringing that color into the bathroom.. it's the same linen color as the shams and bedskirt in the guest room:

Which bring us full circle back to an all neutral bedroom... which this bedroom will be. Now all I need is a headboard, roman shades, a throw pillow, art... haha. We'll save that for another day. For now... back to work!

Orange you glad...

....when things just fall into place? Ah that was cheesy, sorry guys.

So you know how I blogged about doing this for a shower curtain in our guest bathroom?

Well after I decided on that idea, I went rummaging through my fabrics that I already own to see if there was anything that would work. This bathroom has three functions, so the fabric had to work for all three:

Function 1: The bathroom I use when I'm working in my office down the hall.
Function 2: The bathroom our guests use when they are visiting
Function 3 (someday): The bathroom our future kid will use whenever we have one.

So the fabric had to be pleasing to both adults and kids, and gender-neutral. What better to fit that criteria than ORANGE!

Luckily, I had this orange fabric stowed away... I bought it at a flea market a year ago. I even sold about a yard or two but luckily I kept just enough to work for this project.

Now here is the crazy part. I didn't realize this at the time of purchase, but it looks identical to China Sea's Fiorentina fabric:

It's not the same (the China Seas looks like a bigger scale and whiter), but not bad for a super cheap fabric I picked up at the flea market!

Here is the maker of my fabric:

Luckily I can add this to my list of FREE projects!!

EDIT - WOW. Obviously I am NOT a Million Dollar Decorator because I had NO idea this fabric was worth so much. Thank you all for telling me before I ruined it by using it on a shower curtain. ha! Looks like my game plan will be changing a bit.

Just when I thought...

Just when I thought I was over ikat... Schumacher came out with this:

Pattern Kandira in Fog, Ash and Greige

There is nothing like seeing a new fabric you love that hasn't been played out everywhere!

ps - I love this just as much:
