Hey, Twilight Fans

Just curious... are you going to re-read New Moon before seeing the movie? Or do you want your New Moon book memories to be foggy in order to fully appreciate the movie? I haven't decided yet.



And yes, this is a serious question, those Twlighters out there will understand.

Faux finish?

For me, the "f" word in design is "faux finish" (okay it's two "f" words, but you get the point). I cringe at faux finish. BUT.. there is one (sort of) example when I think it's okay.

Take a piece of Craigslist furniture, for example. Check out your local Craigslist and you'll notice 99% of the furniture is that yellow-y orange oak. Yuck. Enter this piece from Pottery Barn:



See Mr.Brown poking out from the back? Yup, he's painted. Brown. It's like a neat little trick on the eye - is it a stain? Nope, it's paint. A faux finish, you could say. Brownish black walls are so popular right now, why not bring it onto your furniture?

I'm going to try out this little trick with some Craigslist pieces and pop on some cool new hardware, I think. Something like these:

Labor Day Trip Pictures

Mom finally uploaded her pictures :) so here are a couple of our great mini-vacation to my uncle's house on the lake in South Carolina over Labor Day. It was such a fun little way to say goodbye to Summer.

The lake was amazing and so where the lake houses.

Spending much needed quality time with the brothers, I never get to see them :(


Yes, my husband is shorter than me and nope it never bothers me (single ladies- don't hate on a guy just cause he's short!). No, he doesn't usually wear trunks like that (my brother forgot his so he wore Matt's and Matt wore my uncle's). Yes I LOVED red and pink lipstick that weekend :) Oh and yes, Weight Watchers works!!
