Today my guys are grouting.. I snapped these pics (below) this morning.
Do you want to hear how crazy I am? The night before the guys laid the tile, I back-breakingly organized all the tiles per bathroom.
I put the more gray/speckle-y tiles in the guest bath because it will eventually be a children's bathroom and I think these tiles are more fun/funky:
(However, now I want to repaint the vanity. It's more of a warm gray, and now I'm thinking of going with a darker, cool gray. Or I may just do white for now. We'll see...)
And I put the creamier, greige tiles in our bathroom.. I thought they looked more "adult".
Yes folks, I am THAT crazy about the details.
I love it, Bryn! I also really like the idea of painting the vanity - it would look great! You're making me want to retile at my house asap! Can't wait to see the finished product.
ReplyDeleteWow this looks awesome! You are motiving me to get on my own bathroom!!! I keep working on everyone else's and ignoring my own.
ReplyDeleteRemind where you found these tiles, i can't find the blog post you wrote telling about them...
ReplyDeleteI dont think thats crazy at all, I totally would have done the same thing!! Also, I totally get what you mean about the speckled ones in the kids bathroom and the creamier ones in your bathroom- love what you did!
ReplyDeleteI am so jealous! This looks amazing! I read your post of how the tile is from HD, but I would love to see the whole budget breakdown by square foot, if possible :) Maybe I can convince my husband that this is needed. Also, did you lay the tile on top or did you strip the floors down to the sub-floor before laying the new tile?
ReplyDeleteYou totally arent crazy, I would have done the exact same thing! And I see what you mean about having the more fun tiles in the kids room and the creamier ones in your bathroom, makes total sense to me :)
ReplyDeleteI love the tile. What a deal from Home Depot. I'm going to go with a similar look for my basement bathroom. Thanks for the inspiration!
ReplyDeleteLooks great!! Love it :)
ReplyDeleteLookin' good! It's good to be crazy about the details. You're paying for the upgrade, might as well have it done your way!
ReplyDeleteI think that the back breaking work was well worth it. The greige tile really does look more grown-up and beautiful.
ReplyDeleteBryn, there is nice detailing of tiles. And you are good at photography too. I have decided to re-do my own bathroom the same way. xo

I have to agree with you that it somehow looked more adult than before. You have done an admirable work on your tiles, Alexandra. If you don't mind me asking, how long did it take you to finish all of this? I'll also be doing some minor improvement on my tiles' details over the weekend and I'm estimating how much time I will spend on it. I hope it turns out as good as yours. :)
