"Floating" Kids Art

I'm working on a gallery wall of kid's art for a client of mine, and we were originally going to do some IKEA Ribba frames.

Then I saw this picture in the latest Lonny:

I liked how a lot of the art is floating.. I think it's actually just tacked up on the wall?

But to get the same look and make it a little more finished, I thought it'd be cool to do kid's art in these acrylic frames:

They are from MUJI.. I was able to see them in person when I was in NY, they are simple yet cool.

I'll let you know how it goes!

Here are some "sneak peeks" of the room.. (obviously not styled, and not finished yet).

We used acrylic shelves for the kid's books (you can see in the first picture) and it will be nice to bring the same idea over onto the other wall (second picture).

  2. Love the drapery panels with fabric added at the bottom. What is the ratio for adding fabric?

So glad I saw this...I have a big, blank wall in the kids den of my house, and would love to do a gallery wall of their art. Now that they are getting older, I am realizing that they are creating less and less art! The whole process of getting stuff framed and mounted has put this project on the back burner, but maybe having it 'float' will at least give me an idea for how it will look, which might motivate me to do a more permanent solution. Those 3M command strips are also a great way to hang art and posters without putting nails in the wall.

  5. This is true that to buy mother of pearl bracelet in wholesale is really very attractive and best idea for almost everybody who like freshwater pearl bracelet, and I am impressed too much from topic about oyster pearl. They make you more charming. I love fashion.

  7. Hi Bryn- Found you awhile ago via YHL and have been a reader ever since. Love your work! I'm currently working on my nursery and really wanted a couple acrylic shelves to display books like you have here. Would you be willing to share your source? Thank you!
