20% Off!

I have good news for you guys :) I just added the same Capiz Lotus chandelier from my entry to our Isabella online shop! AND right now we are having a 20% off sale (enter SUMMER for the coupon code).

Those of you who have been wanting the Capiz Lotus chandelier, now is the time to get it :)

If you're not in the market for a new chandelier, here are some of my favorites from the shop that you could use your 20% off coupon on:

I'm currently using this Wild Lily soap in my bathtub. It smells soo good and is awesome for summer. I may or may not have been caught sniffing my own arm to catch a whiff.

My favorite candle right now is this Acai Rain candle. It smells really good and an added bonus is that it's completely organic.

I know, I already blogged about these.. but now that they are on sale you can stock up. (I still loooove mine).

(I'm sorry for posting about the shop a lot lately. I love it so much, and I really want you guys to know about my favorite things that I use and love. Please forgive me!)

Finally, a new entry light!

Since the day we moved in, this is what has been hanging in our entry to greet our guests:

And yes, the canopy has been hanging like that for one year (we moved in Memorial Day weekend last year!!)

My MIL has suggested many times that I should just take it down, spray paint it and put it back up until I can get what I want. But I live in the camp of "I'm not going to do it until I can do it right" (I'm a stubborn Taurus, that's for sure).

Well this weekend we finally switched it out!! Hooray! And I looove it :)

Charlotte always like to be a part of the action.

( you can see the chairs I won from Blogfest in the background!! One came missing a leg, I'm just waiting for them to send another. Like how I rigged it? ha ha)

We were pretty proud that we installed the light ourselves.. something we never really have done before. (Although Matt did most of the work.. thanks Matt!!)

I've loved this pendant for a while. I used it in my very first full project:

I got mine from Worlds Away (to the trade). If you are interested in purchasing one, email me!

We also tried to install this IKEA pendant in our laundry room but it just didn't work out (we need more of a flush mount).

Too bad, it's SUCH a good looking light and the price is amazing. I'll just admire it from afar in Erika's kitchen.

Once we get a new light installed in the laundry room I'll do a full details + sources post!

Swim Suit Season

Swim Suit Season is upon us and of course J.Crew has my favorite suit (again) this year. Although I'm still in my prime bikini years.. I've found I've wanted more coverage on the bottom.

Here is the suit I've been eying:

I love that it's navy blue, has good coverage but is still sexy. Yes, please!

Take Notice

I often see inspiration images and there is something within the image that jumps out at me. It makes me think "Hmm that's really cool". I thought I'd start sharing these with you guys. It's the little details that really make a room stand out!

Here is the first "installment" of Take Notice:

Headboard

Achieve the look: Janell has a great tutorial on how to cover lamp shades here. There are a lot of great DIY headboard tutorials out there, just google "diy upholstered headboard" or "diy fabric headboard".

I jumped on that bangwagon

I kept reading so many great things about Pintrest that I just had to join. It is as great as they say it is. I'd love to know if you are on there.

Here are some new-to-me images I have found via Pintrest:

Click here to see my Pintrest. What is yours?

(I'm also starting a quick little photo "feature" on the blog called Take Notice. I'll be posting it later today.. you'll have to let me know if you're into it!)

Small changes for a small study

This room is a very small "study" aka pass through in one of my e-decorating client's home. It wasn't really being utilized and we felt it would be a great little spot to sit and read.

Here it is currently:

We kept the current wall color + the blue in the background of the shelving. Here is my plan:

It's hard to explain to someone how to style shelving over email, so often I show them. Here is the inspiration I used for this particular space:

ps - did I tell you I ordered this lotus shell chandelier for my own entry? I will never get sick of it.

Blogfest 2011 - Day 3 Part 2... 1st Dibs !!

I ran out of time yesterday to post all the ah-mazing wonderful-ness that is the 1st Dibs showroom. It was one of my favorite parts, especially because it reminded me a little of Slate but on steroids.

True antiques are the most beautiful things in the world. I am obsessed with beautiful old furniture and things. That's the beauty of 1st Dibs. These pieces are the real deal. You can find many "knock offs" on Craigslist, but these pieces were/are the game changers in design.. and real design truly is timeless. I would gladly take home any one of these pieces and keep them forever and ever and give them to my grandkids. I cannot afford these antiques, but I can definitely admire them (and buy the cheap knock offs on Craigslist).

Enough chit chat, I know you want to see the pics! (my camera died halfway through the showroom, so half are iphone pics).

The real deal. Pottery Barn knocked off these lanterns.

When I studied Art History in college, I never looked at statues and thought "wow that's sexy". But this photographer did! I love these prints.

The event was great too - Thom Filicia was there and I got to meet him for the second time. Do you remember this post about how my dress poofed out and I looked pregnant?

I told him about it...

And in this picture I could pass as 3 months pregnant. Ah, oh well (I'm not preg).

Love these girls!! me, Beth, Abbe and Traci

I ended Blogfest 2011 with a two hour delay at the airport, a tall beer and a plate of nachos (which may or may not be contributing to my phantom pregnancy photo problems):

All in all it was an AMAZING TRIP!!!
