Colorado Souvenirs

During our trip to Colorado, I managed to sneak in some shopping (I know, I know I said I was on a spending freeze, but this was vacation and I controlled myself).

First stop was the Brass Armadillo, a HUGE (and I mean huge) antique mall in Denver. I found some old prints that were 50% off.

This 1902 Charles Dana Gibson print cracks me up, I had to get it.

Sucks to be that guy ha!

I also purchased this beautiful 1945 Audubon swan print:

We stopped in an art gallery in Georgetown where I got this beautiful original watercolor. It's called "Summer turns to Fall" which I love, because Fall is my favorite season.

The swan and the trees have been added to my growing collection of art that will someday make up a large gallery wall installation above our family room couch.

My BFF Erin bought my this GORGEOUS Amethyst necklace in a rock shop in Georgetown. She got a matching one.. yeah BFFs forever! (you can never be too old for matching BFF stuff, right?)

It just happen to go perfectly with the dress I wore to the wedding:

THANKS ERIN!!!!!!!!!! Love ya!

I also purchased a BEAUTIFUL sculpture that my husband was not too happy about.. because it needs to be shipped to us. You guys, it's amazing. I cannot wait to share it with you.

Not only will I cherish the memories made in CO, I'll have these beautiful pieces to always remember our time there.

Your trip sounds awesome!  I lived in CO for a year, so your post is bringing back a lot of memories. I love all of the locations you hit in CO.  Your new watercolor reminds me of the drive into Aspen in the fall with all of the beautiful leaves changing, it is an incredible site.

  5. No way! You were at the Brass Armadillo? It is literally about four blocks from my house (yes, we live pretty darn close to the highway - boo). My boys love that store. There is a Habitat for Humanity Restore right down the frontage road too. Glad you enjoyed your time here!
