Remember in this post I showed you the room that had a "collected" look? I recently designed a room with the same feeling in mind.
First I have to show you the befores. This house is so cool, with the best original dark molding.
This is the formal living room:
And this is the family room across from the formal living room, which is what I am helping with:
And here is the plan!
When I saw the pictures of their space, it had such a great eclectic yet traditional vibe and I ran with it. My client asked to help lighten the room, so I made sure to add a lot of light, bright pieces that are also durable (they have two children).
I really love this Fox Hollow fabric (and my client does too yay!)- it pulls in every color that they current have.
This fabric pattern is actually very old - it's part of Schumacher's J.H.T. & Co. Inc. collection and the design was adapted from an original J.H. Thorp document, founded in 1819.

I love that living room. Very good set-up.
ReplyDeleteOh, it is going to look great! Can't wait to see.
ReplyDeleteSo I stopped by this morning, just to check to see what you have been up to...and had to take a second look because I have been in that room before...I am there all the time.... because that is one of my good friends houses!!!!! I helped pick out the lamps on your moodboard! Such a small world! I was totally thinking the same sort of thing for the living room. Loving the light touches.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE that board...and especially that fabric!!! I'm assuming you have to be in the trade to buy? That would be PERFECT in my living room to update my sofa pillows....would love to get my hands on it!! Can't wait to see the end-result!
ReplyDeleteOOOH- I really love the rug you chose- it really updates the style of the room while still keeping it traditional! I love the gold pouff too:)
ReplyDeleteThe Fox Hollow fabric is a show stopper. Don't you love when a client loves what you know will work best? ;-) That gold poof is also perfectly unexpected. Great job!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, inspired collection of items, Bryn. I think the roman shades are perfect, and allow all that lovely woodwork to shine...the Schumacher fabric is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI love that fabric! It would look great in my parent's house, they have those colors.
ReplyDeleteThe original molding is stunning! Love your design plan, especially the rug!
ReplyDeleteLove the pattern you chose, and the colors, and the house!! :)
ReplyDeletelike the "something new" look with the gold pouf. Those moldings are awesome. I'm always amazed when old houses have moldings that have not been coating with 42 layers of paint, as you would find in our apt.
ReplyDeleteOooh I love the molding ~ so unique!
ReplyDeleteThat rug you chose would look great! :)
Oh my goodness I hate to swipe ideas but all of these would go perfectly in my home! I've been wanting to redo my living room to coexist what I already have in my family room and that Shumacher fabric would be the perfect thing for it.
