Welcome, 2011! I am so excited you are here!
Instead of resolutions, I like to write out little "to do" lists for the new year. Here are some things I'd like to accomplish:
+ Add a "subscribe" button on my blog. I know - this one should be so easy but I've been having difficulty adding one that looks halfway decent.
+ Add a comment reply service on my blog. I don't know what this is called, but I would love the ability to reply to comments directly in my comments section. I've seen services like this out there but I have no idea how to add it.
+ Put together a Charlotte blogger/designer get together early this year.
+ Master bedroom re-do. I've already started a little bit on this one. I'm going to document the process in stages and will be documenting it early this year!
+ Go back to Southern California to visit Matt's family, do some interior decorating consults, do some thrifting and maybe go to Vegas ;) [ If you live in Southern California and would be interested in working with me in person, please shoot me an email! bryn@brynalexandra.com ]
+ Work on more local interior design projects [ If you live in the Carolinas and are interested in working with me in person, please shoot me an email! bryn@brynalexandra.com. I am currently accepting new local clients! ]
+ Learn how to tile. Our bathrooms and laundry room are in dire need!
+ Finish painting the rest of the house & wallpaper the powder room.
+ Take my business to the next level. This one is very broad and I'm really not yet sure how to do this. But it's definitely one I plan on working on!
I'd love to take this opportunity to ask you if there is anything new/improved you'd like to see on the blog?

Love the idea of a to do list and I am stealing the idea for myself!!
ReplyDeleteI love those ideas. I am coming to Charlotte on 1/20 and would love to come by and do some photos for my website. And if you get a get together together I'd love just to come and take photos for it. I live in Raleigh.

For the commenting system, I recommend Disqus. It's very simple and the website walks you through the process! It'll help you import the comments you have through blogger as well.
ReplyDeleteI wish you lots of luck in your 2011 ventures!
Love the to-do list too! I just finshed my post for 2011 too! I'm very much looking forward to seeing your mster bedroom re-do! and I would love to see more of the projects you are working on this year on your blog!
ReplyDeleteI'm more of a list person too rather than making resolutions. You have some great things planned for 2011!
ReplyDeleteI'm hosting a giveaway on my blog. Feel free to visit if you're interested!
Happy 2011, Bryn!
If you go to the blogger designer, comments sections, you can choose to have comments sent up to 10 emails. If you enter your email address, they come directly to your inbox and you can respond directly there. That does not give you the ability to show responses in the comments sections, but it sure does make responding SO much easier! Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteBryn, Just saw on blog "Adored Austin" the blog comment thing you are talking about. I think it is called Discus (?). Hope that is helpful.

My ex and I tiled his bathroom and it was much, much easier than I expected it to be. You'll do just fine with it!
ReplyDeleteAnd if you figure out how to respond to comments within the post, please let me know! I've been wondering how to do the same thing. (And if I get around to figuring it out, I'll let you know too!)
Happy 2011!
xoxo,
Jessica
Hi Bryn! I'm not quite a design blogger, but I'd love to meet up with other local bloggers. Please keep me in mind for this! :)
ReplyDeleteI have no doubt that you will accomplish all this, and much more! The blogger/designer get-together is on my list, too!
ReplyDeleteFingers and toes crossed that my husband's new job means we are that much closer to redoing our master bedroom and bathroom. Happy New Year! :)
ReplyDeleteSuper list. I love visiting you here, and wish you much success in 2011 and beyond.
