Easy Roman Shade Reveal

And here it is, my finished diy roman shade!

I am really happy with the result, and especially happy with the $30 price tag.

I thought it'd be visually interesting to do the flange in the horizontal stripe.

The room is coming together, and I should have a full room reveal somewhat soon. :)

Answers to a couple questions/comments:

Where did you get the fabric? I'm sorry to say the fabric is from the Los Angeles Fashion District.

I hope it's as easy as it looks! Oh it is, I definitely recommend to everyone. The entire project took me no more than an hour and a half from start to finish.

  27. I'm so excited about trying this. I actually found two roman shades at a consignment sale for $5 --exactly the right size, but the fabrics are not neutral. Do you think it would work to spray adhesive a layer of blackout liner, then spray my real fabric on top of that? They are lined, so should I try to seam rip off the top layer and just use the liner as the base? What are your thoughts?
