Ikea has these babies for $99.. they are really cool with the "ghost" seat, but look a bit uncomfortable.

And last but not least, my new chairs! I got them off eBay. I loooooove that the base is brass. It adds just a touch of traditional. Obviously they need reupholstering. I'm not too fond of the indentations, but an upholster can easily remove that.
I have no idea what to reupholster them in... that will be the fun part!
[Can you tell I'm on a mid century modern kick? I have a feeling our new home will be filled with an eclectic mix of mid century modern and traditional pieces.]
[Our inspection is tomorrow. I PRAY everything goes well!! But even if we don't get the house, we'll still need dining room chairs in whatever house we end up in. :) ]
[There is a perfect antique dining room table I'm eying to go with these chairs at a local antique store. My husband said no more furniture until after we pass inspection... fingers crossed it will still be there!]

I'm sitting in the Ikea Tobias chair right now, it's my office chair. I've found it to be surprisingly comfy. It even rocks a little bit which I really like.
I like the chairs you bought - the base is really minimal. I agree with the tufted indentations on the seat - they've gotta go as the over power the petite bases. Don't ya just love eBay?!

Love those chairs and can't wait to see what you do with them! I have gotten to really like mid century modern mixed with things too! I may have to try it in a guest room. I have a tall dresser I might want to reuse.

Love almost all of those chairs and used to be really attracted to that "ghost chair look" until someone pointed out how butts look all smashed up in them. Now I can't bring myself to buy any see through chairs! I'm thinking good thoughts for your inspection.

Just bought the clear ikea chair yesterday! Super easy to assemble and, although I only sat in it for a short while, I didn't find it uncomfortable. Maybe not an ideal chair for someone spending a lot of time at their desk, but otherwise a great option! I'll let you know if I change my mind. :)
