As you know, I've been working on (and writing about) my interior design jobs since this summer. So after a weekend full of wrapping some things up at client, I took a couple "work in progress" photos to share!
The spaces are by no means finished but are a little glimpse into what's to come from bryn alexandra interiors :)
Let's jump in, shall we?
This is the guest room.. I wanted it to be elegant, hotel-like and full of neutrals with interesting textures. Still needs a lampshade & art.
Below is a little girl's room; my client's daughter is sooo cute! I just adore her. Her dresser was purchased off Craigslist and was only $30. It was pretty beat up and LAMINATE (yuck). But I fixed that with (many) coats of pretty pink, a coat of poly and new hardware. I am a huge fan of children's art, so I let her create a masterpiece for her room (not framed yet).
I've been a huge fan of Cole & Son's Woods wallpaper for a really long time, and I'm estatic that my clients went with it for their Master Bedroom! They have a sloped ceiling, and this wall is VERY tall.... perfect for towering branches. Isn't it sexy??
I'm very lucky that my clients had an amazing, talented contractor. I would draw up some simple sketches and he made it happen! Just like these shelves in the dining room.
This home couldn't have been done without Craigslist and Salvation Army. Almost every room has at least one piece of large furniture from those two sources that I have refinished and made over. This huge beauty below was only around $100 at Salvation.... I slapped some white paint on it, and am dressing it up with some gorgeous chrome hardware. Wait until you see the finished product!
I hope you liked my sneak peeks! I can't wait to show you the finished product!

ReplyDeleteWOW, I LOVE that dresser, when I saw the "before" I wasn't sure the "after" was going to be this great! You have done an awesome job, shopping, sanding, painting, sewing, pages and pages of designs and ideas!! You are on your way!
ReplyDeleteLove that paper - its so striking without being too busy.

ReplyDeleteI'm in love with the pink dresser in the little girl's room!
ReplyDeleteHi! I love the headboard. It appears to be the one from target and urban outfitters. I'm on the fence to get one myself as I have not seen one in person to discern its quality. Any comments on the quality? Which color is the one pictured? It looks like parchment.
ReplyDeleteThanks!

ReplyDeleteThe painted furniture looks amazing. I'd love to know more about your technique. Did you use a set of instructions when refinishing them? Would you mind sharing with us? I am about to embark on painting an antique bureau and I'd love to do it correctly the first time!
