I knew when I got pregnant I was going to have a hard time with all the "baby stuff." A) I hate clutter. B) There is very few baby items out there that are aesthetically pleasing. For most moms it doesn't bother them at all.. I wish I were one of those moms! But there are some of us out there, especially those of us who work in a design related field, who get panicky at all the plastic and primary colors while walking through Babies R Us.
I know, I've heard it before from friends - you get over it. But luckily there are companies that know the importance of form and function. 4Moms is one of those companies!
When I started researching items for my registry a couple months ago, I came across this video (yes I am a crazy researcher.. I was watching videos about the new baby products that were introduced at the October market):
And I was SOLD. Form, function and didn't take up a ton of space? I knew I was going to put the rockaRoo on my registry the second it came out (I had always planned on adding the mamaRoo, but was bummed when I read reviews saying they wish it rocked back and forth like a traditional swing).
Well, literally THAT SAME WEEK 4Moms contacted me about the rockaRoo Blog Tour and asked if I would be interested in receiving a rockaRoo and giving one away! Um, YEAH! It was meant to be!
My little guy won't be here until April, but the second our rockaRoo arrived my husband and I put it together and played with it. I love it! The rocking motion concept is so brilliant, and of course I love the sleek design and the fact that it's in a neutral, interior-design-mom pleasing color.
As I mentioned earlier, since I'm a crazy researcher, FUNCTION is just as important as form. What's the point of a great looking baby item if the baby is going to hate it? Which is why I love the concept behind the rockaRoo (if you watch the video I posted, you'll see what I mean). But in short, here is thinking behind the engineering:
Why swing when you can rock? The 4moms rockaRoo flips the traditional swing on its head. Literally. It rocks like a rocking horse, which maximizes the sensation of motion for your baby. It features five speeds, an MP3 hook-up, and removable toy balls.

My sister in law is having a baby and this would be a great gift!
ReplyDeleteI am due in about 3 weeks with our 3rd little boy! This would be awesome!
ReplyDeleteRocking feature is a must - we had the original and the one downside was that it didn't "swing".
ReplyDeleteThis is so exciting! I just found out I'm pregnant and am with you on being an interior designer and NOT too exciting about baby junk all over the house! This is on my list, too : )
ReplyDeleteThanks for offering this giveaway! I agree that so much of the baby stuff out there is difficult to picture in my mostly neutral home. I was considering a Baby Bjorn Babysitter for my little guy (due June 1!) but I was concerned that I might regret not getting a seat that is automated. I would love to try this!
ReplyDeleteMy little boy is 1 month old tomorrow and I would LOVE to try try this out! :) Awesome giveaway!
ReplyDeleteSo much prettier than most of the other options! I do agree that aesthetics go by the wayside when you just want your baby to SLEEP, but if you're going to have baby clutter everywhere, it might as well look good :)
ReplyDeleteAHHHH! I need this! I am having my second baby the first of March, and with an 18 month old, I am going to have my hands full! Literally. Fingers double, triple crossed!!!
ReplyDeleteI have one, and have just about worn it out with use by the 2 babies! Sometimes it was the only thing that would but my baby to sleep!
ReplyDeleteOoooh, I love the motion this little gadget has! I have a hand me down swing waiting for my bundle arriving in a few weeks, but this would be amazing!
ReplyDeleteI'm obsessed with this giveaway! My baby only likes to nap in his swing and this one is gorgeous! I'm one of those crazy designers that panics at the sight of primary colors too ;)
ReplyDeleteI love the fact that it's sleek and stylish! Hard to find with baby items! Thanks for the opportunity, this is an awesome giveaway : )
ReplyDeleteI have a wayyyy long time to go until the little one arrives, but I have already been planning and this item is on the top of my list!
ReplyDeleteSeriously I think I have written the first part of this post myself- WHY does baby stuff have to be so ugly and make me want to rip my eyes out?? There are so few products that us design loving people can handle- I'm so glad this is one of them! When the time comes to have kids I want this thing ready to go for my kid!!
ReplyDeleteMy little one is due in 4 weeks and I would love to win this! I have heard great things about 4Moms and their products.
ReplyDeleteI like the fun colors.
ReplyDeleteName on rafflecopter: Mary Happymommy
I'm totally with you, the idea of plastic primary colored toys cluttering up my house gives me anxiety!
ReplyDeleteI just found out I'm pregnant...we've yet to make an official announcement, but I couldn't pass up an attempt to win a rockaRoo! Honestly, I love that it doesn't look super "baby" and that it's functional as well. And I LOVE that I don't have to have a primary colored cover on it!
I love it's compact size and all of the different movements. My sister has one and it's amazing?
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway! What a neat concept. - Trish
ReplyDeleteWould love one of these! Fingers crossed! :)
ReplyDeleteWould love one of these! Fingers crossed!
ReplyDeleteI would love one of these!
ReplyDeleteThis is such a great giveaway! It sounds amazing!
ReplyDeleteI love this product!!! Our first loved constant movement and this would have been a blessing to have then! I love that there are five speeds and the movements are more natural for the baby! Thanks for the opportunity!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great giveaway! Love 4moms!
ReplyDeleteI love the sleek design! I also dread clutter from baby things and love the look and functions :)
ReplyDeleteI'm due in less than 4 weeks and I would LOVE to return the bulky swing we got for the price savings. This is sooo much more appealing.
ReplyDeleteIt seems obvious, but I love that it rocks! Very nifty. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteThis looks really great. I have been looking for a "swing" for my new neice. This looks like it would be a great fit.
ReplyDeleteI love that it's stylish but also seems to soothe babies well. I'm due in April and would love to have this!
ReplyDeleteI'm so sad this wasn't even a thing when my son was born, but so pumped that it exists with any future kids!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite thing is that I can hook up an MP3 to it & blast white noise in. Amen, hallelujah, said all the babies.
LOVE! What a great idea! Our little was just born and would love this! I've been trying to combat all the bright colored plastic also…its hard, you want your baby to have fun, but don't want to stare at some of that stuff all the time! The exersaucer is going to be the hardest for me. I feel like babies love them…but they are SO big and SO ugly.
ReplyDeleteAlso, the pulls on your nursery dresser are gorgeous! Can't wait to see more of it!!
what a great giveaway!! this will be so useful! thanks! :)
ReplyDeleteLooks like an awesome product! Would love to have one for our nursery.
ReplyDeleteI want this!!
ReplyDeleteI love that its pretty, and it swings! amazing :-) kategriffith (at) yahoo (dot) com
ReplyDeleteI love the colors, or lack there of. I cringe every time I walk into BRU with all the colors. Love this piece because it doesn't scream all things kids.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE this!
ReplyDeleteThank you for doing this giveaway! This is something I really think future baby would love and I love that it's pretty to look at.
ReplyDeletelove that is has an MP3 hook-up!

ReplyDeleteperfect timing! our first baby is due March 1, 2014! we registered for and already have the mamaroo -- but we definitely need a rockaroo too!! (or maybe we return the mamaroo and get something else :) ?? )
ReplyDeleteAwesome giveaway - thank you so much! Have a first grandson due mid-Feb ... think he'd really like this if Mr. Rafflecopter was so inclined to pick my number!
ReplyDeleteFellow Charlottean, by the way.
I didn't know all this cool baby stuff exists! I love that it's not big and bulky! And I'm sure much easier to move around if need be!! Thanks for the giveaway! I have a little one coming in July!!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely a great giveaway! Excited for all the new babies coming this year!
ReplyDeleteOh I am so excited for this! I have one on my registry, but winning one would be great!!
ReplyDeleteI love the way it looks! I am a designer too and it's so hard to find great looking baby items!
ReplyDeleteI've been drooling over these for our baby due in March! I love that they're not big and ugly like SO much baby gear! Plus it looks super comfy to me!
ReplyDeletei love the rockaroo too! i am due in july. even though i'm in a more technical/computer related field, i can totally relate to the anxiety-inducing primary color overload. this is so beautiful. thanks for the chance. :)
ReplyDeleteI LOVE love love the design. As a new momma, I've already been bombarded by plastic primary colors and it's killer to the sophisticated home I'm trying to achieve.
ReplyDeleteHaving a baby girl in April and have been coveting one of these!
ReplyDeleteLove the 5 Speeds- we had the similar rocker with my son and i found it wasn't fast enough soothe him
ReplyDeleteOh how I NEED one if those!
ReplyDeleteGreat giveaway! I'm due with my first in May and have had my eye on this brand. I love the neutral color and compact design,
ReplyDeleteI like the sleek look rather than the normal babyish patterns.
ReplyDeleteI love the design of this - no pastels and bunny's here!
ReplyDeleteI would love to win this as a gift for my sister! I think the multiple rocking styles would help it work for just about any baby.
ReplyDeleteWhen we had our first daughter we never bought a swing but ended up borrowing one because the baby liked the motion so much. This time around we're swing-less again and would love to have something that has so many other functions as well. Fingers crossed!
ReplyDeleteI love the modern look of it! Swings are so nice to have with little ones but I loathe how large and clunky they can be
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh - both of our swings died on us, so we are in much need of something else for new baby arriving in July.
ReplyDeleteYes, I love that it's not primary colors, but the rocking motion seems actually functional!
ReplyDeleteWhen I went to register when I was pregnant with my first, I burst into tears when I was surrounded by the brightly colored plastic stuff. Not to mention only pink available for girls. I have always lived the clean aesthetic of the 4moms items and I've heard great things too!
ReplyDeleteI love how sleek it is! Our first is due in March and I'm still on the fence about 90% of "necessary" baby things... this one looks like a winner!

ReplyDeleteWould love to win one of these! My baby boy is due in May. :)
ReplyDeleteI almost bought a momaroo...I think that's what they're called with Theron! I'm glad I didn't because nothing soothed him, but this is intriguing in that it rocks! If I ever have another, I may want this. Thanks, Bryn.
ReplyDeleteI would love one of these for our little guy who is due March 29th!
ReplyDeletelove love love the design but moreover the human rock mimic, rather than swing motion... thank you!! i have #3 (under three!!) due in may. analise

ReplyDeleteI hate clutter as well but I also hate buying something for the baby and then it does not make sense after you bought it, or the baby could care less!
ReplyDeleteI love the design and compactness. Can't wait to get one for our first arriving in July!
ReplyDelete4moms to the rescue
