No babies planned for the Dunn household yet, but this nursery is
too good not to be shared! Whenever the day does come for us, this is exactly how I would decorate a nursery. Fun, whimsical, but not too "baby".
All images below are the nursery of
Courtney Barton of Inside The Loop and were featured on
Holly Mathis Interiors.
Isn't it
amazing? I really think it's my favorite nursery I've ever seen, and I like that it could easily work for a boy or a girl (it's a boy's nursery). Courtney had that rug custom made, it's definitely my favorite part of the room. I'm also a HUGE fan of pleated, custom drapery in nurseries (it also seems like it would be super functional to have blackout curtains for a baby, you can shut them to block out sun and noise).
And on a somewhat related note, I thought it was funny when our BFFs came to stay in May and my friend Erin walked past the "baby's room" and said "I've never seen pictures of this room!!" Well there is a reason for that, ha!
I don't really want to decorate this room until we have a baby, so currently it's our ironing room/future baby room. We haven't even gotten around to taking the previous wallpaper down yet. Although it's starting to get on my last nerve walking past this room and seeing it, so that may change....
And yes, we have a glider. I was in Crate & Barrel one day and this brand new slipcovered glider was in the clearance section marked down to $500 from $1,000. It was exactly the type of glider I would eventually want (neutral, slipcovered, comfortable), so I bought it.
I know this whole post begs the question "When are you guys going to have kids??" We get asked it all.the.time. Honestly, the answer to that is - I don't know! Right now things are going so well with my business and I've been so busy with it that I cannot imagine bringing another "baby" into the mix anytime soon (because yes, my own business feels very much like my baby!)
So for now, this room will be the ironing room with a glider :)
