I L-O-V-E mixing fabrics

Mixing fabrics is pretty much one of my favorite things to do. I just sent this mix over to an e-client.

Neutral, but not boring.

If you like any of the fabrics, shoot me an email and I can get it for you!

Making Bi-Folds Not So Ugly

Every bedroom in our home has full double doors on the closets.. except in our master (?). We are blessed with bi-folds.

Yes, bi-folds are pretty terrible. But luckily ours aren't so bad. There aren't slats and they aren't flat, so that makes me a satisfied girl.

Here they are:

[ so the digital camera lives it's life through rose colored glasses apparently... it always makes my pictures PINK. Our carpet is not pink. ]

Not too bad, right? All I need to do is slap on a fresh coat of paint and some awesome hardware.

Check out the current hardware (yikes)

[EWWWW the doors are so gross. PSA- clean your doors and moldings twice a year or they will look like this! Magic Erasers are perfect for this. ]

Here are some options I'm entertaining...

Not a pull, but an actual dummy knob. Very substantial but pricey, too ($45 each):

Now you see it, now you don't (via Restoration Hardware, $6.99 on sale):

Beautiful lines and heft (via Restoration Hardware, $8 on sale):

Cool shape, $9 each:

Another pricey dummy $42/each:

As much as I love the dummy's (hehe), I think they are too expensive. I think I'm leaning toward the third option (pull from RH). Great price.

What do you guys think?

Finishing A Dining Room

An e-decorating client of mine has some beautiful dining room furniture but the dining room just needed a little help with the "wow" factor.

Here is the board I created for her:

You know how the saying goes "it's all in the details"? Well - it's true! I really played with pattern here in this room. The pattern on the light fixture I chose mimics the pattern on the back of the chairs. The small perforations in the ceramic vases mimic the small dots (pointillism if you will) on the rug.

On a side note - the large piece of art is new from Ballard.. it reminds me of a "poor mans" version (knock off) of an Amanda Talley piece. At first it made me a little sad and mad, but then I got over it. Not everyone can afford a large piece of original art.. it really is a luxury.
