Another Eddie Thanksgiving

What can I say, Eddie sets a mean table. I've blogged about his tables here and here. Well, I'm at it again!

I found an amazing gold batik tablecloth from Home Goods this week that set the stage for my Thanksgiving table (more on that later). But this gold table from Eddie majorly inspired my styling.

After getting my new tablecloth this weekend, I was excited to "play" with the table and set it up to see how it looked. Here is a sneak peek:

I cannot wait until Thanksgiving! I'll be sure to share pictures of the table in advance (I think on Monday).

The Life Of The Party

I will admit - I was (am) never the life of the party. Until I warm up to someone, I'm shy and introverted. So what's up with this post's namesake?

Well, the other day I was cruising Craigslist like I always do, and there it was. A mid-century Eames-like lounger for $175. I immediately emailed the seller, and luckily it was still for sale! I had the intention to pick it up, have some reupholstering done, and then sell.

When I picked up the piece, the seller said "go ahead, sit in it!" And boy, is it comfortable. The second I sat in it, I thought... oh man. Maybe I want to keep it for our house.

There is a nook in our living room that I've planned on putting a chair.. the perfect little reading nook that I can use while my husband is watching football. So when I got home, I put it there.

And here is what it looks like (as taken this morning):

In my living room, the chair definitely looks like the life of the party!

After looking under the chair and googling, I found out the chair was manufactured by George Mulhauser for Plycraft. It's called the "Mr. Chair". The company did knock offs of the Eames lounger, but are now popular for their unique styling. Here and here are listings for similar chairs.. with a price of $1,300!

I have to admit, I'm leaning towards keeping it. I would love to reupholster it in a blue/gray tweed.. (but I'd have to check if that would ruin any value it would have). It definitely looks "out of place" in our family room, but in a good way.

There was a quote by an interior designer (I'm sorry I don't remember who, and I'm going to butcher the quote) that went something like this: Put one thing in your space that is a little shocking.

I'll definitely have to sit and stew on this one!

Wisting

I love "wisting". Even though I rarely ever purchase the items on my wists list, for some reason it's still fun to save pretty things to it. I thought I'd share some of my recent favorites with you:

* I recently saw some similar throws at both Home Goods and Pier 1 for around $40.

I think all of these would be great Christmas presents... speaking of - have you started? I want to start (and finish) soon!

ps- We have all boys in our family with the exception of the moms, which makes Christmas shopping soo much harder.

pps- Do you hate me for mentioning Christmas? ;)
