It wasn't all painting...

I'd like to note that the Memorial Day weekend wasn't all about painting and work. The boys went to Nascar and the girls did a little shopping..

Jadeite

There are two built in bookcases in our dining room, and I was talking with my mother in law about what to put in there. We both were thinking of the same thing - jadeite! It will be fun to have something to hunt and collect.

You can find a good collection of jadeite on Etsy and eBay. Look at this beautiful vintage water jar:


What a wonderful piece, but at $375 it's a bit out of my price range.

This piece is gorgeous! So gorgeous, that I decided I had to have it for my first piece.


Jadeite can be a bit pricey to collect, but it's something that is done over time. Collections also make for great gifts! My mother in law collects vintage cameras, and my mom collects art glass paper weights.. so if all else fails, I know of good gifts!

I'm so happy and thankful for the help our family is given us, but it will be nice getting back to the daily grind tomorrow afternoon. I promise soon here on the blog there will be more content other than pictures of our progress. (There will still be some of that too).


ps- I love my little cast iron stool. Nanny brought it for me and I recovered it with some Duralee fabric. She brought me tons of fun goodies.. I can't wait to show you all!
