For The House : Dash & Albert Rug

What do you think of a new little "series" on the blog. I'll do short little posts, like this one, where I feature a product I plan on getting/want for the new house. Is this something you'd like to see? (You can always find my current wish list in my wists sidebar of the blog, too.)

what: Dash & Albert Indoor/Outdoor rug
where: kitchen, underneath breakfast table
why: I love the mix of black + brown. It will also look great with my planned kitchen color - Mercer by Ralph Lauren which is a grayish brown. Plus it's indoor/outdoor so it can be hosed when dirty!
how much: $134 for 4x6

Market!

Yesterday I headed up to High Point Market with my Charlotte designer friend, Traci Zeller. I also got to meet up with Jamie and her Furbish crew. I had such a great time!

My favorite (and most productive) part of the trip up was finding these amazing art prints for one of my clients. The iPhone pictures are poor quality, but they are rows of very old ribbon by Suzanne Kasler for Soicher Marin.

I owe the find to Traci, she's the one who took me up to Soicher Marin. I hope my client loves them as much as I do! :)

Another favorite of mine are these wine sphere chandeliers from Bobo Intriguing Objects:

The price point is surprisingly reasonable on these.

I snapped this picture for my husband at Global Views:

We are by no means big drinkers, but one thing my husband requested in our new house is a bar set up with glass decanters (definitely inspired by our love of Mad Men). This one was awesome!

The main theme of the day was "found objects". Old things reinvented (like the lamps above) and flea market looking items. It was an inspiring day!

It's Back! Part Two

What an exciting week for lighting. First, the Nate Berkus lamp came back. Now one of my all time favorite IKEA pendants is back:

IKEA OTTAVA - $29.99

I've seen it out in the blogosphere but never actually saw it in stock. Well, there it was on the IKEA website today and you better believe we'll have a couple of these beauties in our new home.

This just made my day!
