As Promised...

Mr. Sun sort of came out... came out enough to allow me to take some better pictures of my art wall.

Some notes...

+ If you've been reading my blog for a while, you'll remember I found the vintage steel dresser from the Rose Bowl Flea Market. It was a bit too vintage for my client's taste, so I offered to buy it from her. I'm very glad she accepted :)

+ All but one of the paintings (the unframed piece) were painted by my grandmother or great grandmother.

+ The little watercolor print to the left of the TV is from a little Madeline book, one of my favorite book series as a child.

Inside My Head: Art Wall

Watch this little animated image to see the progression (and my thought process) of the big spaced black art wall:

Isn't this fun? I made it using this.

After a couple nights of having my cute horsey up, my husband said "that needs to come down. It's staring at me." Our bed faces the art wall, so after a little laugh we knew it had to come down. I replaced it with a beach landscape that my grandmother painted. I actually like it better because it reminds me of Laguna Beach, a spot that holds dear to my heart from California.

You'll have to wait a couple hours so I can take some nice pictures of the after.. I must wait for the sun to come out!

If zebra print and chevron print had a baby, this rug would be it:

Also, if I were an artist, I'd most definitely be in my "black" stage right now... Our apartment is all black and white (and tan) right now. I know I need to throw in some color but I keep getting drawn to the same color scheme, like the rug above.

Unfortunately it's code red on the sell out scale but I think I may just need to get it next go around. (Right now we need a dining room table more than a rug. Boooo).
