Vintage is the name of the game...

Jennifer from What I Wore (see post below) has inspired me. In this economy, why buy new? I've decided that from this point, I'm going to make a large effort to buy used/vintage.

I made my first purchase from a great Vintage eBay store called Timeless Vintage Threads. I cannot wait to head out on the streets to find stuff on my own!

Here is the dress I purchased for less than $20 (that includes shipping!)

The ruffled lace collar made me hit the "bid" button! I just love it.

And because I really don't like to be TOO loud, I imagine this with a long grandfather cardigan in gray, a skinny black belt with black flats.

Wedding Week: Decor Inspiration

It's exactly one week until our 1st Anniversary, so I'm going to post pictures from our wedding every day until September 29, 2008! I can't believe it's been a year already, and I'm excited to relive it all over again with this blog feature.

Today I'm going to post all the pictures I gathered for inspiration for our big day. First, I picked our colors:

I first chose a deep, dark red because it's the color of our Alma Mater, University of Oklahoma and perfect for a fall wedding. Then I picked brown for the earthy/rustic feel. I didn't want the red to overpower people, so I choose beige and ivory for the ceremony and kept the red only for the reception.

These images were my inspiration for outside/the ceremony:

And my inside/reception inspiration pictures:

So here's what's in store for the next 7 days:

Today/Day 1: Decor Inspiration
Day 2: Dress, Hair/Makeup, Rings
Day 3: Details/Gifts
Day 4: Rehearsal Dinner
Day 5: Honeymoon
Day 6: Non-pro pictures
Day 7: Pro pictures

Be sure to check back! (I'll also be doing some regular posts, also).

GASP!

I found it! The perfect Style-By-Day blog that I've been longing for for ages. It's everything I could have wished for and more.

The writer, Jessica Schroeder, is thrifty, eloquent, helpful, and beautiful to boot! She wears things from Target, thrift stores, Forever 21 and H&M and makes them look like a million bucks. I wouldn't be surprised if this talented one appears on Project Runway or America's Next Top Model soon.

Be sure to check it out: What I Wore.

Now if only I could learn to thrift and be a size 2 like her.... I think the thrifting part is more obtainable. I'll focus on that goal first.
