Making Bi-Folds Not So Ugly

Every bedroom in our home has full double doors on the closets.. except in our master (?). We are blessed with bi-folds.

Yes, bi-folds are pretty terrible. But luckily ours aren't so bad. There aren't slats and they aren't flat, so that makes me a satisfied girl.

Here they are:

[ so the digital camera lives it's life through rose colored glasses apparently... it always makes my pictures PINK. Our carpet is not pink. ]

Not too bad, right? All I need to do is slap on a fresh coat of paint and some awesome hardware.

Check out the current hardware (yikes)

[EWWWW the doors are so gross. PSA- clean your doors and moldings twice a year or they will look like this! Magic Erasers are perfect for this. ]

Here are some options I'm entertaining...

Not a pull, but an actual dummy knob. Very substantial but pricey, too ($45 each):

Now you see it, now you don't (via Restoration Hardware, $6.99 on sale):

Beautiful lines and heft (via Restoration Hardware, $8 on sale):

Cool shape, $9 each:

Another pricey dummy $42/each:

As much as I love the dummy's (hehe), I think they are too expensive. I think I'm leaning toward the third option (pull from RH). Great price.

What do you guys think?

Hardware Love

Hardware can really bring in tons of personality to your home. For instance, I really hate this piece, but I love the hardware (I purchased at Anthro), so for now it's okay.

The less knobs you have, the crazier you can go with them. But when you have a project that has more than just a couple, stay simple. (You can still find "cool" knobs that aren't as "loud").

MIL and I are working on a project that requires 8 knobs... here are some of my contenders:

And my personal favorite....

Can't wait until this little project is done! :)

I love hardware.

Have you mentioned this before? I love hardware. I've been noticing that I have been spending more on hardware for my clients then I do for their actual pieces of furniture. For instance - a $35 dresser that has been painted pink will be getting these:

And a $120 credenza (will be painted white) will be getting these:

I can't wait to see how it all looks together!

She went with them! :)

Yay, client went with the knobs, but was wondering what she should use for 4 very large drawers on her island.

We are going with these beauties...

Perfection! Who knew hardware can get someone so excited ;) Can't wait to see them installed!

Classic Knob, Modern Shape.

A client asked for help picking out cabinet hardware for her new white kitchen cabinets. I sent her a few options, but these were my favorite:

Such a great mix of classic (glass/crystal knob) and modern (square shape) in a tiny little package.

I hope she goes with them! :)
