Rug & Fabrics

I recently had a reader hire me for some "a la carte" e-decorating. She knew the type of style she likes but needed some help make decisions on some fabrics and a rug for her living room.

Here were some inspiration pictures she sent me:

I know you know the "Lonny/Domino" look - The perfect, eclectic mix of classic/antique pieces and funky, bright patterns. This is the look this e-decorating client is drawn to (me too!)

I sent her two options, each with a different rug.

As you can see, the chair fabric is a pretty Ikat pattern. I found this as an inspiration picture:
On a side note, I'm definitely not sick of ikat yet! I think when it's done well, it's classic.

  6. Oh I absolutely love your posts! The pictures are always inspiring and the ideas are great!
I'm recently on a hunt for interior-design-ideas because I'm planning to move. That's why I want concrete imaginations on how I'd set up my apartment.

  8. Oh wow, if clients came to me with pictures like that I'd be in heaven! She obviously can tell what your sense of style is like, so I'd say the fact that she picked those photos AND you is a huge compliment!
