Grasscloth Living Room Project

As promised, I have more pictures to share with you from one of my projects!

I'm embarrassed to admit that I finished this job a year ago and I just recently got pictures taken! But my goal this summer is to get all my portfolio pictures taken, so I have one down and a couple more to go ;)

My clients already had the gray dining room paint color and the gray sofa from Z Gallerie, so the starting point of the room was the grasscloth. It has a gray background which was a perfect tie in with the sofa and dining room. I'm sure you can imagine how happy I was when my clients agreed with the grasscloth! :)

These clients are a young married couple just starting their family and were on a budget (just like the majority of us young couples out there!) But we were able to do some nice custom pieces, and the rest was store bought and very budget friendly. Here are the sources:

Sofa - Z Gallerie
Orange Ottoman - Designed by me and custom made
Chairs - Found on Craigslist and reupholstered in Windsor Smith's Continuum fabric
Bookshelves - homedecorators.com
Wallpaper - designyourwall.com
Mirror - Client already owned, we spray painted it black.
Lamps on Bookshelves - West Elm
Curtains - JCP
Throw Pillows on Sofa - Custom made, middle fabric is Dwell Studios by Robert Allen
Pillows on Chairs - West Elm
Small Crystal Lamp - Robert Abbey

All images shown were photographed by my talented friend and photographer, Dana Mackay!

  1. which JCP curtains did you use? I see a lot of designers using JCP curtains these days but when I go to the website I cant tell which ones they used.

  2.  i love that you do work on a budget! and the way that room came together came together beautifully!!! strangely I'm cool with the open shelves on both sides on of the couch. i like hidden storage. I'm not a huge huge fan of open storage and Tchotchkes! but this i could work with! =)

i almost want to photograph my living room and ask you for ideas in terms of what we could do with the wall that i want to do a combo hidden storage and desk. but it's a HUGE wall!

that grasscloth wall, is pretty gorgeous! different! i would never have gone for that but it came together beautifully!

  10. Gorgeous, Bryn!  I would also like to know what your experience has been with JCP draperies.  It is so hard to tell on their site what the fabric will look and feel like.  Do you have a particular item you recommend? And do you recommend their drapery hardware as well?  Thanks much!

  11. Oh how I wish the Pauline Sofa was bigger than 84 inches! The Hubs and I just ordered the Harrison sofa from Z Gallerie and we can't wait for it to come in.

  12. I love the color and texture of the grasscloth wall. Everything layers beautiful. I wouldn't have thought to bring that color in on the ottoman. It so works!

  14. You do good work!  I love the orange ottoman.  It has a very vintage feel (maybe it's the pleats and piping?) but also looks very fresh and modern at the same time.  Great color.

SO, So pretty!  I am going to use this room layout for my office.  We will be putting a sleeper sofa in their and have 2 book cases and I had no idea of how I should do the layout.  This totally solves it!  Thanks for such great inspiration!!  Love the grass cloth too, but my hubs is totally against wallpaper. :-(

  20. A strong run over the next roger vivier fortnight could propel her to Roger Vivier Flats another level in the sport roger vivier shoes by positioning her firmly in the top four. Her finance manager would be more impressed by the fact that a semi-final spot Roger Vivier Pumps here would make her Australia's Roger Vivier Sandals second-highest earning tennis player, taking her past Pat Rafter's career total offin official prizemoney and leaving her behind only Lleyton Hewitt's $19m pile. The Australian called the trainers for a foot problem in the second set but no intervention could get her back into the match.

Three other parties are expected to mulberry bags perform well: Former mulberry outlet prime mulberry factory shop minister Mahmoud Jibril's secular Alliance of National Forces, former jihadist and rebel commander Abdel-Hakim Belhaj's Al-Watan - also cofounded by Brotherhood leaders - and the National Front party, one of Libya's Mulberry Bayswater Bags oldest political groups, which is credited with organising several failed mulberry handbags assassination attempts against Gaddafi. 22. This room is fabulous!  Love it.  Just  curious... what inspired you to put the lamps at the top of the bookshelf?  I've never seen that anywhere... and I think I like it.

  26. Hi Bryn, is there any way you can share (if you remember) the exact wallpaper # you used for this project? It's beautiful but there are about a million to choose from on designyourwall.com! Thank you!
