My advice - whenever you can take something on approval, do it! Even if you think you want to go ahead and buy it.
Yesterday I was out shopping for clients and I came across this "cool" vintage lamp. For some reason I was really digging it and thought it'd be great for our front entry so I took it on approval.
I got it home, set it down, was kind of digging it, then I plugged it in and it sparked and shorted our electricity. We flipped the breaker and then tried again, and it shorted again. We don't need to be risking a fire at our house, so it's going back.
So I left it in the entry until I can take it back today, and now all I can see is a Christmas tree with fruit on it... ah! Terrible! What was I thinking?!
I thought you guys would enjoy this, it's good for a laugh at least ;) I always ask Erin as Isabella "cheesy or cool?" because sometimes there is a fine line. This is most definitely cheesy.
However, I do LOVE my new frames I just got at Isabella... and after almost 5 years of marriage I'm starting to put out wedding pictures of some of my favorite moments from our wedding. It really does bring me happiness when I see them!
And on a somewhat related note, it was my husband's 29th birthday yesterday and we had a great date night out on a Wednesday night. I love you Matt!!!!!
He is so freaking cute!!

Yeah, all I saw was Christmas tree with fruit on it too! Your wedding pictures look so pretty, it was a wonderful day! And Matt is looking more like J.J. these days!
ReplyDeleteGood Food on Montfort! Great place!
ReplyDeleteGood choice to pull the plug on the lap. For safety & design sake. :)

and....love the frames and the pictures of your wonderful wedding!
A Christmas tree with fruit....snort! I'm a sucker for anything 3-D so I get the initial appeal. Great frames for a cute couple.
ReplyDeleteGood thing you got to take it home on approval!!! haha! Happy Birthday to your hubby!

Yeah, I'd say it's a safe bet to return it! Love the frames though!
ReplyDeleteThe vintage lamp looks awesome with against the black table, your room totally suits our "urban chic" post (www.eieihome.com/blog/how-to-create-an-urban-chic-decor.html) Great choice with the lamp and happy birthday Matt!
ReplyDeletehave an amazing day!
Well, that is quite a lamp! It might be better in the right space and, you know, with proper wiring? (Overly optimistic?)
ReplyDeleteThat's hilarious - but only because your house didn't catch on fire, thankfully! How crazy! Thank god for 'out on approval'.
ReplyDeleteLove entry table but my vote is not for that lamp. I like the tusk lamp better. Let us know what you decide.
