"Pleated floral drapes" sounds kind of dated and/or ugly, doesn't it ? I've found that it's so hard to find pictures of pleated floral drapes.. do people not do this anymore?
Since I can't find any pictures of examples, I improvised and pinned my fabric sample to show my client what it would look like as drapery:
Do any of you have pictures of floral drapes in your Pinterest? And if so, can you please link me? Thanks!!!
EDIT - you can find this fabric here!
Hey Bryn,
ReplyDeleteI went on a little search after reading this post. Just pinned a few pretties (some aren't exactly pleated but your client should be able to get the idea). Here's the link:

That fabric will make lovely drapes. If people aren't doing pleated floral drapes, they SHOULD be! Very nice!
ReplyDeleteThat fabric is amazing! Excellent choice :)
ReplyDeleteHmmm... there aren't many examples out there... but I thought of this one:

Love the fabric you chose! Here are a couple I've pinned - I used them for inspiration for my own (which I was going to pleat but opted for clip rings instead) so I'm including a link to my post about mine as well.

Gorgeous fabric. I think a pinch pleat will look beautiful. I have pinch pleat florals in my living room. I had them made by tonic living after seeing them in Rambling Renovator blog.

There are probably some on my living room board, but I put a handful here: http://pinterest.com/rok/for-the-next-house/ Might jog your memory for others :)
ReplyDeleteHere's a link to one of my old posts, I not a huge fan of pinh pleated, so I sewed back tab drapes to get a pretty fold in my drapes when hung....

Good luck in your search
I have a gorgeous set in my master bedroom that I found at a consignment store. Ever since then I've made it my mission to find more vintage sets because you just can't find them this way anymore.. They are crazy hard to find apparently! Especially in long lengths. I'll snap and pic and email it to you of mine.

Agree with everyone on the beautiful colors in that floral fabric! And I love the pleating detail on draperies, but I can't think of specific examples right now.

ReplyDeleteMe too! (From Kelsey @ Adventure Mama) Good luck!
ReplyDeleteLove the fabric and the pleated floral! Recently I had these made for my NYC apartment and love them and have received so many compliments. I think your client will love your choice. http://www.southernncity.blogspot.com/2011/11/curtains-and-more-curtains.html
ReplyDeleteI still love pleated curtains. The fan pleat is one of my favorites. I think it makes the window treatment look so much more professional.
