It's Friday

Matt and I were talking last night how the weeks just FLY by. I blink, and it's Friday.

I am just checking in real quick, no Friday find today. I'm going to High Point market on Sunday and I am excited.. I have a long list of items I'm looking for for clients.

This is one of the pieces I'll be looking for.. a low settee with corners. This particular piece is from William Sonoma (do any designers out there know who makes it? I thought it was MGBW but I went to their site and couldn't find it)

Also, I had a hardwood guy come to my house yesterday and tell me my 3/8" engineered hardwoods cannot be refinished. So sad. I think I am going to get another opinion (but for now we are going to hold off on the laminate).

Happy Friday!

  1. Williams Sonoma has a factory in Hickory that makes their uphostered pieces.

Oh so jealous you get to go to Market!  Wish I lived closer/could justify the trip now.  My inlaws have a place in Asheville and we always pass both Hickory and High Point on the way -- so need to get it in gear and just go!

BTW - wanted to credit you for my new orchid!  http://www.powellbrower.com/2012/04/little-bit-of-this.html

  5. were the floors to damaged to be refinished?  we have engineered floors, too, and they are relatively new, but I want to get them refinished before its too late.  what did they tell you?

  6. That's Lee Industries. Kravet makes a very similar shape, a bit more chunky and a more pricey as well.

  7. I hope you find what you're looking for as far as the settee with corners goes!  That piece is beautiful!  I would def get a second opinion on the hard woods.  Best of luck with that, and have an awesome weekend Bryn!

  8. Bryn, It could be Lee or it could be from their own factory.  If you don't find one you can get Mike Polly at Design Upholstery to make one just like it.  He is great.  I would get a second opinion on the floors.  Have you thought about painting them if they can't be refinish?  You could paint and hold off for a while if the current look is really bugging you.  I am planning to go to High Point either Sunday, Mon or mon & tues.  Don't know if you are riding with anyone but if not and you want to ride together let me know!  Would welcome the company!

  9. Talk to Tina Hallman at Hallman Furniture- I bet they can make a piece like that. Lee had some similar things on their site.

  10. Bryn - I believe that's Lee Industries. When WS Home existed, a lot of their accessories came from MGBW (I have a couple of lamps) and furniture pieces were almost exclusively Lee if I recall. I have a few upholstered pieces as well and they're all Lee. You should be able to contact WS directly and get the manufacturer/product info. easily.
